Best of the Best Beaches

Europe

Whether you’re looking to laze on soft sands or dive into new adventures, this year’s winning beaches promise a dreamy escape.

The Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best title celebrates the highest level of excellence in travel. It’s awarded to those who receive a high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period. Out of our 8 million listings, fewer than 1% achieve this milestone.

With pink (yes, pink) sands and turquoise waters, Elafonissi Beach is just one of those places you have to see to believe. The shallow lagoons are perfect for curious kids, while the deeper waters invite all sorts of adventure for adults: swimming, snorkeling, you name it. Just make sure to stick around until sunset—you won't regret it.

This place is just absolutely perfect. I went there on my own in late October and stayed in one of the accommodations near the beach. There weren't too many people there that time of year and the weather was just lovely. One thing I will say though is please, don't take the sand with you! There are many signs around to deter people from doing it but I still saw some people taking some. This is a unique ecosystem, let's not destroy it please...

Beautiful and clean beach, it's a shame that inconsiderate tourists have unfortunately been stealing the pink sand. I recommend getting there early to get a spot to rent a deck chair as the sun gets very strong at this beach. The water is nice a shallow so safe for swimming
