The best campervan site found in a four week tour was in Wanaka. Aspiring Campervan Park is a little way out of town, and is quiet because of it. Its walking distance so you don't move the van much, and they offer a free shuttle in on an evening, leaving you with the walk home to settle the excellent evening meal from one of the many good value pubs and restaurants.
Site has a few cabins, and about 36 pitches. All electric hook ups, free wireless across the site (variable at the outer edges) a couple of small kids play areas, a great kitchen, dining and eating outside area, along with an open air but covered barbecue site. Great washroom facilities and a couple of hot tubs for free use between 4 and 10 at night.
Swimming in Lake Wanaka, climbing Mount Iron, kayaking on the lake, walking the front and Stuart Landsborough's Puzzling World all worth doing. People at the site are very friendly and will help book trips and sort out the next campsite. Well worth a stay.
