We booked online through Agoda and were disappointed to find that some of the photos are clearly not take at the resort. Upon checking into our room we discovered that the bed was as hard as a rock, the pillows were old, deflated, and smelled. The shower is barely large enough to turn around in and the hot water isn't hot. The pool is significantly smaller than it looks in the photos. The staff is friendly, which is a plus. The manager however is extremely rude to his staff. In my one night stay I witnessed him yelling at staff for small things in front of guests. The breakfast included was a cold egg, toast, hot dog and spam. The 'restaurant' had less than 10 meal options and none of the food looked appetizing.
In all my years of traveling I have never checked out early from a stay but of the 3 nights I booked I left after only staying one night.

Rubbish service. Didn't explain the shared bathroom which led to an awkward situation! The so called 'shuttle service' is run very poorly and awkwardly. Shouldnt have offered it if they didn't want it to be used. Unhelpful when organising any trips. When we arrived 5 hrs after first check-in we had to wait an hour for our room to be cleaned. Though room was clean which was nice. Shower was poor and toilet didn't flush though.

Very affordable. I got 2 rooms on a sale, and three stars because of it.

BUT.

if it were at a regular rate (purchased w/out a promo or discount), better go somewhere else. Mosquitos at the shower area, mud at the pool side, unproffessional staff, meager meal choices. Things that you can overlook if ur itinerary is filled with outdoor activities and all u need is just a place to sleep. But also things that could ruin ur "vacation mood" (and just stress u out) if u let it.

I feel the owner's effort, and there's only so much u can offer at this price range.

No geckos atleast.

Beautiful place for the price, pool, potter per rental and a bar... shame that the staff were more interested in the Filipino soap operas on the tv than actually serving the customers. Waited 25 minutes for a coffee, they then brought over a cup of boiling water and a sachet of coffee... last of all the staff tried to rip us off with a trike and refused to get a taxi on the meter. Tried to phone us a trike for 200 Passos for a 10 minute journey and went to the street and got one for 100. Good place on a budget, but expect to do a majority of stuff yourself with a soap opera on in the back ground.

Sad to hear ur experiance. We usaually get a positive feedback on our staff. Anyway I will talk to our staff and make sure, in never happen again.
The be honest with U, getting a taxi here in our remote area (general all over panglao island) is not easy, especially a metered taxi. Usually guest book a private vehicle here, but cant be done for 100 or 200 peso. Thats why we offer a shuttle service, what brings u to alona beach. From there its easy to get a jeepney or tricycle or bike.
thank you so much for ur response. it helps us, to make our place a better place for our guest.
