We stayed at this property in October 2022. Hotel is super clean with amazing staff with super nice nature around and easy to access to all other sights as La Fortuna and Vulcano. if you travel to Costarica I can only say that this property is a must stay. thank you

I have stayed in various hotels over the years in Costa Rica and this place is by far one of my favorite spots! The host was incredibly kind and the rooms were very clean with a great view off of the balcony. The food was also very delicious, Giovanni and Luis had offered some garbanzos with rice that had been locally sourced. While dining we had an amazing conversation with both. Really looking forward to staying here again in the future. Lovely stay!
This was the perfect place to stay for our first night in Costa Rica. Owner Giovanni and manager Luis were extremely welcoming and hospitable. They gave us excellent information and made delicious food for us, even providing an excellent complimentary breakfast free of charge. During the rest of our stay in Costa Rica we didn't encounter such amazing customer service. I'll definitely come back to this spot and send family/friends here.
As for the facilities, we loved that our bungalow was perched on a hill directly above e a rainforest valley. It was remarkable to be able to open our window curtains and observe the rainforest canopy, with monkeys and exotic birds. The bird calls changed every couple of hours, reflecting the rich biodiversity of the area. We were also impressed by the beautiful gardens that Giovanni maintains within his mini resort. The facility also has a nice pool and outdoor living spaces that have a roof but no walls so you can observe the nature.
What a delightful experience and stay at Villas San Rafael. The love of being a host exudes from Giovanni. Both he and Luis are so hospitable and are on site 24/7 to make sure you have the most pleasant experience possible. Giovanni loves cooking and his meals are prepared with joy. No need to worry about eating, they can do it all here. Our family loved staying there and enjoying the pool, nature & warm showers....yes, they have hot showers! This place is perfect for families and groups, and designed so well that you can stay outdoors & still enjoy nature while it’s raining. Villas San Rafael is also close enough to enjoy all the activities around Arenal. Luis can book excursions for you. My nine year-old gives them 5 Stars!

We had such a lovely stay. The host and staff went out of their way to make our stay perfect. They made us feel like family. Make sure you stay and have dinner and dessert on the property! Giovanni is the perfect host. He is the property owner and is always on site to help. He asked us what we wanted for dinner and made our whole family a multiple course meal that blew us away! The warmth and kindness from this man is genuine and he made our stay perfect. We felt loved and safe and cared for. I can’t tell you enough this is more than worth it. The right people make all the difference in the world when traveling. Thankful for our visit and this experience!

Giovanni was an amazing host! He was very accommodating to our family. He’s also a very kind and sweet man to talk to. I would highly recommend you have dinner at the villa for your stay. The staff cooked as a delicious dinner far beyond expectations. I will definitely be back!
