A holiday destination in itself. Wonderful historic building, large rooms with comfortable beds, beautiful gardens and facilities. Golf course and pool as well an interesting nursery that provides vegetables and herbs for the hotel. During our stay (Easter) the property was extremely busy but the staff were unfailingly courteous.

Stayed here with 4 friends in one of the cottages on the grounds of the hotel. We all used the spa before checking in which was a lovely experience even though it was chucking it down with rain. On arrival greated by a friendly receptionist who explained how to get to the cottage from the hotel. The cottage (maplewood I think it was called) itself was lovely, clean and spacious. Bottle of prosseco on arrival was a nice touch. As the cottage was not in walking distance of the hotel members of staff picked us up in the mini bus for our evening meal. My steak was amazing but however my friend ordered the cod dish, as it was quite dry she asked if she could have a sauce to go with it. After 4 different attempts to ask staff to get some sauce to go with the meal by the time it actually came the dish was cold. Service at the restaurant was poor for the price we paid felt like we were getting ignored by some of the staff. The same at breakfast I can understand this was a busy time but service was very slow. Overall i would return as the hotel and cottage were amazing but very dissapointed in the restaurant service.

A party of 6 staying in the Woodlands Cottage with Hot Tub for a girlie night.
All 3 bedrooms are all of a large size and well decorated.
The hot tub had fantastic views over the countryside.
My only criticism for the cottage is the lounge / kitchen area is small with not enough comfortable seating for 6 people, 1 settee and 2 very small chairs leading to us having to use chairs from the bedroom area, I would also suggest lowering the TV on the lounge wall as when sat on the only settee in the lounge it is not comfortable to watch.
We bought our stay via a half price voucher offer, and overall we enjoyed our stay however I think if we had paid full price may have been disappointed.

We chose this location to accommodate friends from both the North and South as part of my best friends’ bridal shower.

We decided to do a ‘reccy’ of the Hall prior to booking and met with Rebecca, the event coordinator. After a grand tour we quickly decided it was the place for us. Rebecca was instrumental with the detail for the weekend. We decided to hire 2 of the cottages (in addition to hotel rooms), reserve the spa for private use and included an evening of private dining.

The cottages were spacious and cosy and the addition of the hot tub was perfect to end the evening after a few (!) bottles of prosecco.

Exclusive use of the spa was the perfect setting for us to relax for the day. The staff ensured that the day was well planned and catered to all of our needs. I would definitely recommend for a group.

Our private dining took place in the Londonderry Room. All menu choices were planned in advance and the evening went without fault. Top marks to Kane for looking after us, and for his participation too :)

Breakfast on the second morning was a great deal swifter than the previous, but once again we were catered for as a group rather than as individuals. Good menu choice and great quality food.

A great weekend in a great location, positive feedback from all.

We had our wedding here in January and Wynyard hall did not disappoint. The planning was seamless and the staff and bar staff in the evening were fantastic. Special mention to ryan our master of ceremonies who went above and beyond. In fact all staff did. We are forever grateful for making it a special day.
