This can also be included as a short stop during your stay. Admire the stone walls of this Spanish-colonial architecture, hewn from corals.
Always my favorite church in the island. This historical place is a place to go while you're on vacation in Catanduanes.
I had my trike guy stop here when I was transferring from Puraran to Virac. Not sure if it was open when I was there but the gate was closed. It's a solid building and built to last. A nice looking old building worthy of a pic or two.
Our trike guide Reymund (09294586607) brought us to this unique Bato church carved out from a cave. The stone walls give it a very cool feel inside.
The Bato Church is a beautiful old church which is currently being restored. It is the oldest church in Catanduanes.
It is beside the beautiful Bato River. Do not miss this Church when in Catanduanes.
About 15 to 20 minutes away from Virac town proper, the century old church was built during the spanish era, made of mortar and coral limestones. This St. John the Baptist Church greets the town's visitors as one enters the town proper. It is very scenic and solemn, over-looking the long stretch of the clean Bato River.
