About 15 to 20 minutes away from Virac town proper, the century old church was built during the spanish era, made of mortar and coral limestones. This St. John the Baptist Church greets the town's visitors as one enters the town proper. It is very scenic and solemn, over-looking the long stretch of the clean Bato River.

The church is under renovation. A must visit when in Catanduanes. One of the oldest church in Catanduanes.

Been to Virac only this weekend and it was a fantastic place worth visiting again. Just a shame that the church I would like to see is under renovation but I will be back next year to see this Bato Church fully renovated.

Beautiful and serene. The view from the main entrance was breathtaking. I recommend this place to be visited.

There was a boy we though was a panhandler inside the church so my mother gave him money but instead he put that money given to him in an envelope for the church.

The fruit of labor of the viracnons. It is a good church and it shows antiquity. A must see when you go to Catanduanes.
