Enjoyed a decent Cullen skink here. Husband enjoyed a fruit scone with butter and jam, and a decent coffee. Very enjoyable experience, though waitress that served us looked a bit stressed, probably because the place was very busy. Would definitely visit again and would recommend this restaurant to others.

Myself, four friends and our babies were pounced upon before even sitting down today, by a less than welcoming waitress, advising us there was no space for our prams. Unless they were expecting a bus full of tourists, there was little chance of a blockage! We left...never to return! Instead we went to Bar 44 where we received a warm welcome!

We as a group of 5 had not fully walked into the cafe when the blond waitress ran over with hands in the air, saying we could have buggies in the cafe blocking the exit and entrance. even tho we have had more than 5 before and never blocked an exit/entrance. The tone of her voice and horrible looks turned us away before even ordering. Been in several times before and always feel as if not welcome. So much other better, nicer and better places to eat in Stonehaven. Look out for the one second from the left no manners at all. Disgusting for service company.

Walked along the beach boardwalk to the cafe. Access is also available from the main street. My haddock and Chips was beautifully cooked - fresh, hot with a nice mix of salad and coleslaw. My wife had the soup and sandwich which she said was very good.
Staff efficient and friendly. Popular with locals but the cafe does not feel crowded as the tables are not set too close together.
Toilets very clean.
Only downside is that the chairs could do with refurbishing. Perhaps it was because we had the window table which is obviously very popular and one could feel the springs in the seats.
