This was an unexpected gem. The place was clean , quite, beautiful view , AWSOME beach a five min drive from town. If your looking to unplug this is it no T.V, internet wifi only works at the main building and no restaurant on site. To me that was perfect there is a BBQ area and the cabin has everything you need to cook and enjoy a meal surrounded by Beaty

A couple of things I would change but nothing huge. There is no air conditioner so it can get very warm adding a ceiling fan would be great in the bedroom, more windows that opened or screens would be an added benefit as well as some shelfs to store clothes on

Stayed: August 2017

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The cabins were adorable clean and we appreciated the special touches including fire in the fire place and wine on the counter.
On arrival we felt very welcomed and were given a great description of the surrounding area.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write and post a review for us! We were very happy to share Wing Creek Resort with you and of course we wish you had more time to spend here and in the area as there are so many things to see and do, from hiking, golfing and kayaking to hot springs, whitewater rafting and zip lining! And yet we totally understand many of our guests' needs to just not do anything at all. We are perfect for that too! Thank you for sharing some of the special touches that made your stay extra special -- we try to make sure our guests feel very welcome and yet also give them all the privacy they desire! Since you are not so very far away, we are hoping we may have the opportunity to host you again, maybe even for a bit longer! =) Thank you again for this lovely review!

We have just returned from a week at Wing Creek and it was the most relaxing vacation we have had in a long time! The property is absolutely gorgeous, the cabins are beautiful, and we cannot say enough about Kevin & Deb's amazing hospitality.

We stayed in a Cedarbrook Cottage (request #5, it has the best view!), which is fully appointed with everything you'll need in the kitchen, plus a super-romantic wood-burning fireplace. The rest of the cottage was extremely comfortable and nicely laid out. Our front deck was covered in concord grape vines, which gave us lots of shade (which was welcome in 35'C weather!). We were worried about the heat, and so brought our own fan, which was ultimately unnecessary. The area cools down comfortably at night, and we were never in want of air conditioning.

The rest of the resort was absolutely gorgeous, with fruit trees and bushes lining each unit and an orchard. We picked raspberries off the bush outside our cabin and fresh cherries out of the orchard nearly every day; it was such a treat! Wing Creek cuts through the middle of the property, and can be heard all over the resort. It is lovely to sit on your deck in the evening and listen to the trickle of the creek. The trail down to the beach is also lovely, with switchbacks through the delicious-smelling trees. Fair warning - the walk up is a bit steep, but it just makes you work for your time lazing in the sun on the beach. :)

Deb & Kevin, the owner-operators, go out of their way to make their guests feel welcome. They even washed our bug-covered car shortly after we arrived. You can see all of the lovely touches they have added to the property, such as seating along the beach pathway in particularly beautiful places along the creek. They are wonderful to chat to, but also give everyone their privacy.

I would not hesitate to recommend this resort to anyone looking for a couples getaway. It is perfectly "away from it all", without being too remote. We will certainly be back for another visit - later in the season next time, so we can take advantage of all of the fruit trees! - Lee-Anne & Charlie

Thank you so much for your glorious review -- we knew this was a really awesome fit for you two, but thank you so much for taking the time to share it with everyone! =) We loved the fact that you used the path to the beach as your personal fitness centre, scheduling multiple trips a day just for the walk -- okay, maybe also because you pretty much always had the entire beach to yourselves! The perks of "off the beaten path"! We were also so happy to share the cherries with you -- a particularly great year for cherries! You know we will definitely welcome you back any time -- peach season? plum season? asian pear season? apple season? You have lots of options! We'll be happy to give you a rundown on what's about to ripen to help you choose!! We do often get guests asking about air conditioning and, as you experienced, it always cools down in the mountains; no matter what great beach weather the day brings, the evening brings cool temperatures just perfect for sleeping! Although we love to get to know our guests individually, we strongly believe in giving you privacy and space to enjoy your private vacation for two. So we try to make sure you are comfortable upon arrival and love to hear your stories of discovery when you are leaving, but we try to leave you in total peace and quiet in between -- inviting you to seek us out if you have any questions or requests of any kind, of course! Thank you so much for loving Wing Creek (almost!) as much as we do!!!

Wing Creek Resort was recomnended to us by our Bed and Breakfast stay in Kelowna - sooooo thankful for this recommendation! Kevin and Deb have five amazing/immaculate cabins which overlook the Kootenay Lake, and for which they maintain to the Nth degree.. nothing is overlooked. We loved the fact the cabins had no internet, yet if we needed Wi-Fi, they had it available for use in their recreation center cabin. Their cabins are extremely affordable, and are just minutes away from the town of Kaslo. We now consider Kevin and Deb lifelong friends after just spending a single night at their properties. Definitely stay here if you are considering a trip to the Kaslo area - you'll be thankful you did!

We are super grateful to your B&B owners for recommending us to you!! We tend to host more couples on longer stays but it is wonderful when people on an extended road trip find us and get a little taste of what we have to offer at Wing Creek Resort! We know the call of the winding roads is hard to ignore when you are exploring on your bike -- we have some of the most fun riding roads on the continent so we are very glad you got to experience them! Thank you so much for taking the time to review your experience here and for all the compliments on our cabins and property! We knew the minute you arrived it was a good fit for you! We hope to see you here again one day soon and in the meantime, we're sure you will enjoy all the best roads and meeting great people wherever you go -- like attracts like! =) Happy riding!

Wing Creek Resort was the perfect getaway from work and my busy life. Everything just slowed right down, pretty much the minute I arrived. It is a beautiful place: creek running by, birds, flowers, endless forest, yoga room, massage, mountain view, beach access and quiet. Kaslo, just a few minute away, was a quaint town with yummy food and beautiful historic buildings and friendly folks. I love this place and will return asap. Thanks for creating this oasis Kevin and Deb, it is a true hidden gem and 5 star destination.

We love to hear this from our guests -- this is exactly what we are trying to provide here at Wing Creek Resort: the perfect getaway from work and busy lives! Fourteen years ago we worked all the time and had crazy busy lives in the city so we get it! We found this beautiful property and knew we had to create something very special here. Thank you for taking the time to share what you like best -- it encourages other guests to think about what they are looking for in their vacation or quick getaway from it all. The people who find us tend to be looking for exactly what we have to offer and we love to share this very special place with them! Thank you again and we look forward to hosting you again in the not too distant future!!
