A nice and comfortable spot to base out of for a few days while taking my diving course with D Divers across the bay.
The rooms are very rustic with no screens on the windows, not allot of funaiture and no private bathrooms but the bed is comfortable and there is a mosquito net for the bugs. Rooms have a fan, lights and electrical plugs for when the island has power (frequent power outages). The common bathrooms are well equipped with modern toilets, showers and enough sinks for people to brush teeth/wash face if all baths are in use.
The resort is in a forest setting which is very quiet at night and the are no roosters on property (a real treat when you're in the PhiIppines!). The native birds singing in the trees are lovely to wake up to in the morning. The common area/dining room is a great place to hang out and you never know who will stop by from the community to have a drink and share a chat (great for getting to know the people/area).
The food is awesome! We tasted our way through the Filipino side of the menu during our 4 day stay and enjoyed it all. Favourites are definitely the Bicol Express and the Katsudon.
The staff are all nice and helpful and it's a very chill vibe all around. The staff are there if you need something but are happy to...A nice and comfortable spot to base out of for a few days while taking my diving course with D Divers across the bay.

The staff are all nice and helpful and it's a very chill vibe all around. The staff are there if you need something but are happy to just hang out and chat as well. The owners (Luke & Danika) are great hosts and super knowledgeable on the area. They will always help you book something or just give you advice if that's all you need. They are great at anticipating your needs and Luke went ahead and organized a complimentary boat pick-up daily from the backpackers to the diving school for me even though I did not ask. They will also make you packed lunch to-go for the day if you need it. They have a dog (Buddy) and a cat (Cat) who make it feel homey and who love to get pets and cuddles.
Internet connection is good but only available outside, up near the office which is kind of nice at keeping everyone from looking at their phones all the time.
I would stay here again but maybe look into renting one of their more deluxe rooms on the other side of the property that overlook the bay and have their own kitchen and bath facilities (on Air B&B).
Thank-you to everyone at the backpackers and we miss you all already!More
