Staying at this hotel you will not regret your choice. Great buffet menu for breakfast and dinner. Beautiful view of the beach. The hotel is located in a picturesque city along quiet streets, which is nice to walk in the evening. The rooms are not too spacious, but very comfortable and quiet. Great pool. Special thanks to Martina for the willingness to help in any situation.

Room tip: Choose rooms with a view of the beach.

Vila Nova de Milfontes is incredibly beautiful little town with fantastic beaches and a good range of restaurants with a relaxed friendly atmosphere. This hotel has a good position in the town and fortunately we had booked a room with balcony and sea/river view. It was clean and comfortable though smaller than expected. The service is amateurish. When we arrived the key to our room had been lost and they had to wait until the cleaners had finished doing all the rooms so they could take their spare key to be cut! In the meantime there were no pool towels. This all took about 3 hrs. They did give us a free lunch voucher for the next day in compensation, which we appreciated. Housekeeping was adequate but didn’t clean the balcony or take away used glasses or cups. Restaurant service was chaotic. The pool itself was clean but the surrounding furniture was shabby, much of it broken and dirty. A great shame for what could be a top class hotel in a world class setting.

Room tip: A superior twin room is the only one with a proper sea and river view

Arrived here from Lisbon at 3pm and went to check in - as per the instructions on the confirmation email, We were staying at the Moinho da Asneira (owned by the same group), which was 5km away. Reception was closed and was told to go to the restaurant for help. They had no idea, so we sat around for 1/2 hour waiting for someone to appear. We were then told we had come to the wrong place, and needed to go to the office in town to sort out our booking.
Finally after an hour we arrived at the Moinho da Asneira and found our room had not been serviced from the previous guests, with dirty towels and bed linen. We then tried to call the company - was on hold for 20 minutes. We were then advised to make our way back to HS Milfontes Beach were we would be provided accomodation for the night. We finally finished the checkin procedure at 5.15pm.

Room tip: Don't stay here

I visited HS off season for dinner and hoped for a laid back dinner on the terrace in line with the marketed image of the hotel. The food was overcoked, spinach like hay, oily creamy pasta, dry chicken - all hardly eatable. Moreover a crowd of rowdies partly fully tatooed booked the place with huge squads covering major part of the outdoor parking. They created ugly noise which did not allow us to have any cinversation. All gave up to chat. They made huuge noise and management after various complaints of guests did NOTHING. We could only talk to the waiters who were helpless and hardly cared for their guests in the terrace. We constantly had to shout for them Total bill was 180 euro. AN AWFUL UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE which I ve not had for years.
