Had the best holiday here August 2018. Staff are amazing. Wanting to book again for 2021 but not sure who they are in partnership with now?

Stayed for 1 week. Keys were in door on arrival. Room was larger than expected on ground floor 307. Large balcony clean room. Shower area was a bit tired the tiles were a bit grubby with mildew on window ledge and taps were a bit rusty but all worked ok. Plenty of wardrobe space. Air con and safe included in price which was nice and wi fi was good quality in room and pool area. Considering self catering it was very very basic. We were on a budget and don't always like to eat 3 meals out. But it was a bit difficult to cook even just a boiled egg with only 1 pan which was a frying pan. Asked for another but it never emerged. No toaster or microwave either. No spatula to fry an egg or wooden spoon or tin opener. Towels were not changed daily and floors were not swept or mopped .if they were it was a poor effort my feet were dirty all week walking round the room. Bins were emptied daily but rubbish was left in black bin bags for 2 days outside our room. Pool area clean. Some sun beds were a bit tired looking and a bit grubby.bar area clean and welcoming and we ate lunch and an evening meal here. Good quality food and lunchtime service from nikos was good. Breakfast was one of the best I've ever had in Greece. Only chose to eat and drink in this bar once in the evening due to the negative vibe that Sergio gave out. I understand it's towards the end of the season. And we appreciate how hard all the staff work. But for him to constantly tell you how tired he was and how long it's been since his day off and his lack of welcoming and enthusiastic vibe were a bit off putting. The guy was ok but he needs to be aware of his negativity putting people off wanting to socialise in this bar. It didn't spoil our break and the location just on the beach and size of the rooms made this a relaxing break. Would I go back? No

This was our second visit to the Amaryllis Beach Apartments (see first review 2016). The apartments are set back from the main road, and are in a quiet location, perfect for a chilled out week. However the large hotel next door could be noisy at times. The beach leads off from the restaurant providing a perfect view while eating at the restaurant. Boating trips and para-sailing are also available from the beach. Sunbeds are also available to hire on the beach. Nice sized pool and lots of sunbeds available. We arrived late on our first day so no food was available from the restaurant, but there were sandwiches and water left in the fridge in our apartment, which were much appreciated! The studio was a great base to explore the island from. The accommodation was very clean. All of the staff were very friendly. Towels and loo roll were provided and basic equipment for self catering of which was not required by me as I prefer not to cook on holiday. Air conditioned apartments and the safe both free of charge. Car hire from Enterprise got us round the island. Lindos and Rhodes Town are a must see. There is so much to see and do in Rhodes. We also spent an afternoon playing mini golf a short walk from the Amaryllis, which is open till late and well lit at night. The food at the Amaryllis however was nothing short of perfection, Snacks were provided during the day by Nikos and staff. I loved my late morning toasties and frappes. The evening menu was fab all tastes catered for and nothing was too much trouble. Steak with chips no problem! We cannot thank Sergio and his wonderful family for not just treating us as guests but almost like family! The host with the most! The swordfish cooked by Sergio's son was too die for! His sister cooked the best kleftiko and stifado I have tried and I have tried a lot. We ate at the Amaryllis every night because the food was so good and all very reasonably priced! We cant wait till next year to return. Thank you all for our wonderful holiday you certainly did look after us. We had an amazing time much love Carol and Alan

Room tip: We stayed in room 105 nice quiet room

The situation of the Amaryllis is excellent, nestled between the main street and the beach. Okay the beach is not a long sandy stretch of golden sand, but it is a beach with sun beds and umbrellas, at the time of writing between six and eight euros for two beds and an umbrella. To get in the sea you probably need some kind of beach shoe because it is extremely stoney from the sea edge and into the sea and don't expect to walk out very far , it drops away very quickly.
The beach side restaurant/taverna is excellent both for food and service, Nico who works morning and lunchtime is cheerful and efficient as are the ladies that cook. The portions are ample, especially from the evening menu.
Now the apartments, they are spotlessly clean and although not big, good for two adults. The beds are comfortable and air conditioning is free as is the safe deposit box. The bathroom while a little on the small side, especially the shower,is still okay. Self catering, if you want to actually cater for yourself maybe think again. There is a frying pan and one large saucepan, but apart from knives, forks ,spoons and one tea spoon no other cooking implements. No tea towel, bring your own along with washing up liquid and a scourer. Plates, bowls, glasses and two cups are supplied. There is a two hob cooker, the kettle we had to plug in by the front door, as you will see from my photos, only one socket in the kitchen area. In the bedroom you have to open the wardrobe door where the safe is situated and then put the bedside cabinet back so the door is open or you can't use this space. The balcony is perfectly adequate with enough room. I don't want you to feel like we didn't like the apartment, we did, but it has some draw backs but nothing you can't get over. The resort has five restaurants and Lardos village, a short bus ride away has plenty more. One big downside, there is no where to change money. Your closest place is Pefkos, it was a bit of a surprise to turn up with pound notes only to be told nowhere in the resort will change them and believe me I tried everywhere. But all in all I hope this is a fair review, it's clean which I think most people want but the block which begins 10 and 20 are a bit tired and need a refurbishment. Having said this we would probably come back again.

We’ve just returned from an eleven night stay at the Amaryllis. It was recommended to us by my sister who’d stayed there in August and loved it - she said it was the most relaxing holiday she’d had in a long time, with lovely staff. She was right! The rooms are basic but adequate, and the odd issues we had with ours were soon sorted by either the rep, Jane, or the restaurant staff contacting the owner who lives on site. It’s a small complex, with the pool, restaurant and beach all next to one another. We always managed to get sun beds both by the pool and on the beach. The beach is pebbly, but the local supermarkets sell swim shoes which make it easy to get in and out of the sea and to swim. The food in the restaurant is very good, and breakfast is served until 2 pm. Nikos works there in the morning, Sergio in the afternoon and evening. Both were lovely and made us feel really at home – nothing was too much trouble. We went to the Greek night organised and run by Sergio which was unlike any tourist Greek night. The musicians were superb, the barbecued food amazing and Sergio was brilliant in making sure we all had enough to eat and drink! There are several restaurants and two bars in the vicinity, but Lardos village, half an hour’s walk away, has more atmosphere. There are several good restaurants there, particularly the family run Roulas where the food is excellent and the welcome warm and friendly. There are buses to Lardos village, Pefkos (ten minutes away) and Lindos (twenty minutes away) and also a good taxi service. We hired a car for two days from Carenta which we found very reasonable and Sergio gave us a suggested route which was very helpful. The landscape is varied, with beautiful seascapes and breathtaking mountain views. The roads through the mountains are very quiet, and there are some interesting villages dotted about. The Amaryllis has the advantage of being in a quiet resort with more lively ones within easy reach. We would certainly recommend it and would definitely stay here again.
