Like most reviewers, we found Jose to be the perfect proprietor. We stayed in a newly remodeled 2 bedroom, 3 bathroom, full kitchen (w/ dishwasher, laundry, dinnerware, flatware, etc.) home about 150 meters from the ocean. It couldn't have been more peaceful and relaxing. If you need relaxation, this is the place you need to stay. Keep in mind, this is a house, not a hotel.

What a find! Our first visit to Pico island, but definitely not our last. The cottage was exactly what we wanted. Beautiful inside and out, with all the amenities we needed for a self-catering holiday.
Our hosts were welcoming, and really went out of their way to help when we managed to lock the car keys in the boot!
We hope to be able to return very soon to this little piece of paradise. A truly beautiful and unspoilt island, cool tropical with the rainfall to go with it.

We stayed for 5 nights here and really enjoyed it. The house we stayed in (Casa Das Conteiras) was perfect for our family of five and the well equipped kitchen allowed us to have some of our meals at the house. It is in a quiet location and I really liked the small garden and views across to Sao Jorge island. Thanks also to Jose who advised us on some great places to visit on Pico and also helped us to book the ferry to Faial, which was also well worth visiting.

Casa de Vinha. Wonderful house, special athmosphere. The beds are fantastic, open door out from second floor. Keeps cool when it is warm. In the middle of wine stocks, overlooking the sea. Great, friendly staff. Will definitely return here and stay for a week! Recommended!

Like the previous reviewer my partner and I chose to stay in one of the larger properties owned by Adegas do Pico,, Casa das Canterais which sleeps 6. The house is perfect, with a beautiful position on a hill above the small beach of Prainha and facing the island of Sao Jorge. The view from the house is absolutely mesmerising. The house itself was spotlessly clean and is really comfortable in a homely way, and had everything we needed for our five night stay. Jose, Silvia and Maria were always extremely kind and helpful, and you could see they run a very professional set-up here on Pico. The price for the house (we paid euro 95 per night) for the position, service and facilities offered is remarkable.
