There's plenty to see and do on Bruny Island so we figured we'd visit this place last on our way back to the ferry. Big mistake. They may be open until 5 but after 4 the shelves are bare, the kitchen is shut and there's nix to do or eat.

This was so much better than we expected.
Rather than the simple taste and buy cheese shop there’s actually a much bigger operation going on here with wine tasting, beer paddles, a gift shop and superb spot for lunch.
There’s a reasonable number of tables inside under cover, but if the weather is fine, there are dozens more scattered around the site under trees,
There’s plenty of parking, good toilets, and great food.
Order a cheese platter or ploughman’s, order a beer paddle and settle in.
Then, head back in for coffee and ice cream – the perfect spot for lunch straight off, or on the way back to the ferry.

Don’t expect anything from this establishment. Total waste of time driving or even worse paying for a tour to come to the beautiful Bruny island from Hobart. Very disorganised staff. No one to welcomed us or give direction. Staff are extremely unhelpful and over busy. Not worth the trip at all. Toilets disgusting and no view to see cheese being made even though a sign pointed you towards seeing Only dirty windows and a dishevelled room and to be honest a dirty looking cheese room at that. After all the hype I just thought it was disgusting. Totally put off spending a dollar let alone eating the stuff that was produced here. Sorry but have to say it like it is. Hope this helps other travellers heading to Bruny island.

Love cheese & freshly baked sourdough.
And plenty of local wine and ciders to choose from.
Lots of option for none dairy and none alcohol drinkers.

They have some great cheeses. The baked cheese and platters are all great. The fresh bread is delightful.
