I only know about the bar, not the hotel. Lots of ladyboys and working girls for the old-timers like me (say hi if you see me!). It's basically all old white guys, young local boys, girls and gender unknowns. Live music almost every night, lots of fun for everyone.

This BEAUTIFUL affordable resort is one of the best values on Panglao Island and 2 km away from Alona Beach. BEAUTIFUL pool as you can see. WONDERFUL staff, excellent food, free wifi, aircon, shower with hot water and a sports bar with pool table, darts, music and a ton of fun

Terrible experience. This hotel was overbooked, which happens; however, how management dealt with the situation was entirely unprofessional and absolutely appalling. It was our first day in Panglao, and upon arriving at the hotel we were told that the hotel was overbooked; however, management had known for over a week that they had overbooked and had not informed us. They lied to us about having informed us three days prior, and did not follow the protocol of informing us prior to arrival and either issuing a full refund or relocating us to a hotel of equal or greater value.

The hotel’s management showed us an email from the website through which we booked saying that the hotel was overbooked, but we realized the email addressed other customers’ stay and not ours. So, apparently Soft Stone overbooks itself quite regularly. Perhaps we booked so cheaply and so early that they just told us to f@#k off (literally) because they found higher bidders. What a scam—to screw over customers the first day they arrive on the island, and send them across the street to a bug-infested motel that is half the price, ruining travelers’ first day and night in Panglao.

The owner and manager was drinking with his buddies on the patio during this debacle, and then became belligerent with us, dropping the F bomb multiple times. He was ill-equipped to handle the situation in his inebriated state it seemed.

The concierge at the front desk had initially tried to make things right by negotiating something fair with us, but the owner/manager with beer-in-hand came at us completely unprofessionally—cursing and lying about having informed us about overbooking the hotel and relocating us. They did not follow Expedia’s protocol of informing us and relocating us to a hotel of equal or greater value.

I would not recommend this hotel. It seems to be the owner’s first foray into hospitality, and he is unfit to work in the industry with such poor people and customer service skills. Had he left the situation to his concierge at the front desk, who were trying to make things right, I may not be writing this review. However, his emotional tirade and unprofessionalism were uncalled for, and I fear other customers will find the hotel just as mismanaged as we did. It’s also not a great location it seems, and the pool is rather small and shallow—more of a reflection pool to toss pennies in. I would also not recommend the food AND DEFINITELY NOT THE BAR, which were incredibly underwhelming.
