Easy access off N7, about 200kms from Cape Town. Nice rooms, good size, very helpful people. Restaurant OK with good simple fish or meat choices. Nice pool area and hiking trails right at the hotel. Better base than either Citrusdal or Clanwilliam. unless you like towns which I don't. Other restaurant options close by came highly recommended but w they were closed during our two day stay.

Room Tip: Hotel rooms that overlook th epool / garden

A definite must-stay resort! Well-appointed 'home from home' environment, excellent facilities and staff! Only 2 hours easy drive from Cape Town. We have stayed there for a getaway break a number of times. Going again in April 2018.

Room Tip: The 'honeymoon' suites are a must!

Very friendly staff. Lovely views with alot of activities to take part in. Rooms are spacious with huge and comfortable beds. Room totally sound proof, so you hear no traffic at night. Tasteful breakfast.

We occupied 2 units over the weekend past.

1. House keeper was not very friendly and dishes that we loaded into the dishwasher on Saturday morning were not cleaned properly. Dishes came out dirty from machine when we unloaded it. The appliances/utensils are not the same across the units. One of the glass pyrex dishes is beyond dull & cloudy (assume this is because of the dishwasher) and for R2700 per unit per night, surely this can be replaced. Towels were not replaced when housekeeping attended to the units. Instead, dirty towels were folded and placed underneath clean towels?

2. We received no attention pool side to place any orders. A young white male was serving other guests and walking by but not once had he come to us to ask if we wanted to order anything, we tried to get this attention on several occasions but to no avail. Eventually one of us went up to the restaurant to order. Not knowing the other one ordered, another one of us approached the guy and asked him to bring a menu to us, we waited and waited then Angelina came by to bring the order that was placed at the restaurant and also took our other orders. The guy then came about 30 minutes after I asked him to come take an order. I got the feeling that we were beneath him therefore he didn't want to take our order, also got the feeling that the colour of our skin wasn't quite right for him hence why he ignore us (but he serviced other guest who were from same ethnicity as him).

3. The pool needs a bit of attention in that chunks of the lining is coming off, the rim around the top of the pool as well as at the bottom of the pool. Since this is the only pools the facility has, this needs to be fixed as patrons pay good money to enjoy a stay at your facility.

4. The resort could do with more pools - in the event that all the self catering units and hotel rooms are fully booked, and all guests decide to make use of the pools, there definitely will not be enough space in the pools for everyone, not will there be enough shaded area for all.

Given our experience for the accommodation rates, we definitely will not be hurrying back to this place.

Also, reading the past reviews, the standard response from the resort is to thank the reviewer for their feedback and say that they will take this into account in improving their resort which I don't quite buy because issues that have popped up in the past is still prevalent today. So the purpose of this review is for potential guests out there who are checking reviews prior to booking.

This resort has a beautiful view over Citrusdal and the Olifants River valley. There is a trail of about 6 km behind the resort and a mountain bike trail. The rooms are well furnished with essential air con. Shower was in the bath which could be cramped for a large person. Safe was not big enough for a laptop. Free WiFi available.
