I stay here every single year. There are private rooms upstairs. This is one of the cleanest albergues on the Camino Santiago. There is a nice community kitchen, washing machine, and lines to hang laundry. Carmen and her family are lovely people. There are shared bathrooms on both floors. A special place to stay!

Room Tip: Pay for a private room upstairs! Well worth it! Quieter upstairs.

Clean, friendly, affordable and nice location. Couldn't ask for more. Welcome stop after 16 miles on the Camino today. There isn't an attached restaurant or bar but there is a kitchen provided for guests.

Lovely clean light rooms and very friendly helpful staff . NIce kitchen/ sitting area , use of computer ( pay extra ) and good washing facilities . Close to main square . It was very good value - 30 euros for both of us . It was perfect for us .

My dad and I spent a night at Carmen's while on the Camino. The albergue was clean and comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen. It's blocks away from several grocery stores, and convenient for getting on and off of the Camino. The outside covered/sunny patio was perfect for relaxing, drying clothes, and enjoying the fresh air. We had absolutely everything needed for a pleasant evening and a good night's sleep.

What sets this albergue apart is the kindness of Carmen and her husband. They are warm and generous people, and Carmen went out of her way to make sure that everyone was comfortable and had everything they needed.

I cannot recommend this albergue enough. Thank you so much, Carmen!

The title says it all.

Portomarin was really busy in Oct 2016. We got the last room in Ultreia.

POSITIVE:
> Location: 50 metres from the cathedral. Right at the center of this small town. Restaurants are close by.
> The hosts are fantastic and goes out of the way to help you.
> Very clean and private rooms are a shared balcony. Private rooms have shared toilets too.

TO IMORIVE:
> The rooms are really really small for my taste. Thr bed and cupboards, take up 80% of the room. The balcony , even though shared, was a saving grace.

For a hostel on the pilgrimage route , this suited us fine.I would consider this place again on this route.
