We came here a few years back on our travels and were truly amazed by this place, in fact it was the place that inspired us to get married in Thailand.
However we kind of wished we kept those memories and didn't return as we were left a little disappointed.
Now I am someone that doesn't like to moan and as you will see by other reviews I leave I am very quick to praise places and am not fussy.

However compared to before the staff now seem very disinterested and this has a big impact on the quality of your stay. Nobody expect the owner or the receptionist were keen to talk or smile at all. Service at the restaurant was awkwardly painful at times and we felt more of a bother. The group of staff mainly all stood together at the bar chatting by the terrace.
The pool area is meant to be for staying guests only but as it's not very well fenced off we found this time we were constantly bombarded by tourists just coming for the view, walking over us doing half hour photo shoots and being very noisy. The staff seemed very slow and reluctant in bothering to move them on, some of the guests were even putting down towels and getting in the pool! One guest was even sitting flying a drone around filming us around the pool and even at one point it was looking in our room!

The first time we stayed in the cheap wooden huts, which were perfectly adequate for us at the time, but these are now being knocked down for new more expensive rooms. This coupled with the very high restaurant prices make it feel like they are trying to target a new market now and not accommodate for the less wealthy clients anymore. This is fine but it is just a warning for people.
This time we chose a hillside bungalow which had a lovely view but be wary of the steep and uneven steps to get to it. We did also mistakenly think that this more expensive dwelling had aircon but it didn't, which my wife struggled with a bit this time being pregnant but we managed ok. Only the big villa has air con but we were told it was 130000bht a night to upgrade so we stayed put.
On the last day we booked our ferry and transport to the pier with reception, who told us to be there for 630am for the ride to the bottom of the hill. At 630 there was nobody around and we had to hunt a cleaner down who frantically ran around trying to locate someone to help us. Nobody seemed to have any idea it was booked and we ended up quote stressed and rushed in the end

In summary i would definitely advise going up to jungle club to see the view and relax with some food and drink, but just beware what to expect now with the prices compared to most. It's not outrageous for a one off, but it soon adds up if you are staying there. A cooked breakfast gives you bacon OR sausage with egg and beans with toast and drink for 400bht with their 10% charge added. You are purely paying for the location.

If the staff cheered up and were more proactive and helpful making the hotel guests feel more welcome than the diners then I would increase the rating, but at the moment they seem more interested in shipping in dining guests as there is probably more money in it for them. We are gutted our experience this time didn't live up to our fond memories.

We made it up on a 125 scooter some couples had to make their partner walk up as they did not have the power! When you get to the top park your scooter on the left and make you way in. Lucky for us we got the beanbags we wanted which provided a stunning view of the coastline you can see beyond Bophut on a clear day. I did not have much cash on me but I believe they take card payment as it is also a hotel. We had a small wood platter which was very tasty and cheap. The cocktail my wife had was tasty as I had a sip! Worth a visit for lunch or early dinner but would not like to go down the hills in the dark but it’s up to you, enjoy!

We arrived at 5pm and stayed until 7.30pm,I had pre booked a table and the table we were given gave us amazing views.
The hours we spent here were simply stunning,The place has such a chilled atmosphere,Watching the island go from day to night is something that will stick long in my mind.
Me and my friend both had a 3 course meal while here,The food and staff were great but also the prices were ok to say where we were,Of course you expect to pay more but they have priced the meals and drinks very reasonable.
You must visit here while in Samui,If you don't then you will be missing out on a real gem.

If you're visiting Koh Samui, you must visit the jungle club for the views. If you go around early afternoon time, there's no need to book. We went for a light lunch which was average but the prices were not cheap and the staff weren't the most friendliest. The views are absolutely breathtaking!

Saw this place on one of our island maps and liked the fact that it was off the main road.
We were on a bike and it definitely tested the power of the bike not to mention our nerves. Pretty steep hill so ensure that your bike has plenty of zip before u go.

When we got there, walked into the resort and over to the bar area. Absolutely stunning!!! The bar is a lovely laid back atmosphere with bean bags and low tables. The views are spectacular. Enjoyed a few beers there with very friendly service.

Before u leave, try out the toilets- they are very cool.

Also, before u go to the bar, ensure that you have good brakes on your bike. They’ll be tested on the way down!!
