Really busy restaurant situated in the town centre. Open when most other businesses were shutting as they do around lunch.

8 of us were served quickly and the food was superb with a wide variety for all

Decent value for money as could have been more expensive for its position

Thank Robert P

We had to sit inside, which was ok since we didnt reserve a table. But it was too hot Inside, that wasn't fun. Food was quick, but the salad was really pricey and not that great. My main course (Salomon with mashed potatoes) was tasty though.
In the end we wanted to pay but this took so lang that we got up and went to the counter to pay.

Thank Hartakan

We decided to visit this place for dinner, as we have tried other restaurants in Penne d’Agenais for lunch, and we have always been pleased with the meals in those restaurants. People seem to head for Le Peyragude, as it is in the main square, when you enter the village, and many visitors don’t realise that you have a choice of other places to eat, after going through the archway. It was busy as usual in Le Peyragude, and the Manageress greeted various customers, but we felt that her greeting lacked an element of sincerity, and she did not smile very much. Our waitress worked hard and provided a fast efficient service, but there is a certain lack of ambiance at this place. Inside the restaurant, the place is dull and quiet, as everyone chooses to occupy the tables outside, during the warm weather.

Our food arrived promptly, and the presentation was good, but the dishes lacked any real flavours. We both had the chicken salad, with the sweet chilli sauce, as a starter, but it did not have the kick to the sauce that we had expected. Our main courses were monkfish and the pintade (guinea fowl), and again there was a distinct lack of flavour, though the coconut milk sauce with the fish was quite nice. There was nothing gourmand or tasty about the food, nothing particularly special, nothing to make us want to return. The tiramisu with strawberries contained strawberries, but there was no evidence of any tiramisu, just a lot of very sweet white substance, that used up my full sugar quota for the day! Plats du jour elsewhere at lunchtime offer a much tastier meal at half the price, than our evening meal did at this place.

When we came to pay the bill inside the restaurant (62 Euros for two people), the Manageress completely ignored us, she did not even ask if we had enjoyed our meal, nor did she even say goodbye after we had paid! She made no attempt at any conversation, even though we speak French. We thought that this was extremely unprofessional and very rude. Reading other reviews for this place, it would seem that we are not the only customers to be treated in this way. We will not be returning to this place again for many reasons, and would suggest that visitors try Le Bombe Cul or Café des Arts, which are only a short walk up the hill, into the village, both of which offer a warm welcome and really good food.

A very busy restaurant even on a Tuesday evening, full of local people, and with good reason. We enjoyed a lovely meal in pleasant surroundings.

This pretty restaurant serves a typical French menu, but we have always had fish and it is good. The owner speaks good English. Desserts are delicious. There are tables outside in the summer.
