We stayed here in error, having overshot our pre-booked hotel on the endless boring road south. The staff were very kind and accommodating, the supper and breakfast were delicious. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, the view of the glorious lake from the two windows of our balconied corner room was delightful. Altogether a great serendipitous find.

The food in this hotel is very good, with a good variety. However the rooms are small and only the coach parties have the rooms with private balconies, the rest of us get a view of the fire escape. The rooms do not have any form of air-conditioning, we were there during the heatwave. There are at least two coaches staying each night and as such the staff, who are very friendly, do not have time to talk to those of us that stayed for 10 days. The returning coach parties can be noisy when returning late. The staff are good, just too busy. The main spoiler was although it was great sitting on the terrace eating our evening meal, the tables are close together and there is no deterrent against those who wish to ruin other's meals by smoking.

Room tip: Try and book one with a private balcony

Car broke down & RAC sent us here for the night whilst car was fixed. Views beautiful, near a lake. Very helpful we had no dog food and staff kindly provided some . Restaurant lovely meal, and location. If you want solitude or like fishing ideal. I would visit again probobaly in the summertime

Everything here is very nice! ;-) Location, personal, hotel style, proximity to the sea and to the gentle city La Rochelle, tasty meal in hotel restaurant, atmosphere and management.
Recommend to everybody to stay here! ;-)

We found this place years ago on one of our many detours in France and I was impressed that my wife found it again as it is way off the beaten track - just look for the sign to Le Lac.
We were the only ones on the beautiful terrace overlooking the lake with its fishermen in boats and we enjoyed some good value food and wine on a beautiful sunny day and were looked after by a friendly waiter. Hope it is still open the next time we are in the area.
