“Enjoy nature with a touch of history”

Reviewed 10 December 2017

This is a tourist site where you can experience the olden days of Mizo culture. It is a decent place for hiking with friends and families. I have taken some of my international friends out here, climbing the hill for about 4-5 kms, and the trip is worthwhile when you reach the top. It is best to come here after the rainy season subsides, coz the view is excellent.

I don't know any trip to Aizawl without visiting this mountain top is incomplete. One of the best Destination for which I have to visit Aizawl again and again. You need to trek through a Jungle from this Village and on the way you will come across a natural cave and then you will find the best part that is climbing the mountain.

While visiting the Reiek Heritage village we spent some time at the Tourist Resort of Reiek,
Reiek is a beautiful and picturesque place on a hilltop and this resort gives you a cosy place to stay and enjoy the surroundings including some trekking. The food is good and reasonably priced.
We had a luncheon party and we enjoyed the outing.

Reiek has a typical Mizo village consisting of the distinctive traditional huts of the different Mizo sub-tribes, Mizo chieftain’s house, a bachelor’s dormitory and that of a widow has been created and maintained by Tourism Department of Mizoram. The houses are fully furnished giving the visitor a peek into the glorious past of the valiant highlanders. A few Mizo modern houses have also been constructed nearby to show the changes that have taken place in the Mizo way of life in keeping pace with the modern developments.
