Costabella has a small beach which is very good for relaxing at night as they have cosy couch and beanbags. They have a pool table which needs an upgrade and a table tennis table (bring your own ball tho or buy one from gift shop for PHP50). We didn't try water sports here but they seemed to have a few options. In Mactan there is no public beach, so you are dependent on the hotel's private beach for water sports etc. so choose your hotel accordingly.

We got room 300 which was nice as it was the only superior room with a balcony, so try asking for it if available. Room was clean and ok sized. Overall service was good. Bfast spread and restaurant was ok. Wifi wasn't great as it kept prompting a login very frequently. Location of the hotel isn't great, even to walk out to the main road you need a tricycle or maybe a 20min walk. We rented a motorbike (from a shop recommended by the hotel) instead which was a good way to travel around (PHP580 per day, maybe a bit expensive cos of Xmas). Hotel has a complimentary bus in the morning for a one way trip to malls in Cebu city.

As an aside, do not buy SMART sim card if you want data. We took one in Manila and it didnt work in Bohol/Cebu. Customer care was useless. Save PHP750 per person for the Airport departure, high time they start including it in the ticket.

I've stayed many beach resort in Cebu but this is the first time I've try in this place.it was just okey standard from so called resort very far and no service at all, they only have 1 free ride only one in the morning only going to SM and Ayala I think , I have nothing to impress except it was though clean but the beach is so so ....
But apart from this experience I was very pissed about the hotel rules. I was working in 5⭐️ hotel before and I know exactly the standard of how to deal guest and and management rules, this one is a poor service, because this is like a hospital.it has a curfew,if you are a guest and you have some visitors they will give a hours for it aside from they will get some VALID ID which I do understand the security reasons.they will ask you, what time your visitor wil stay....

My experience is I'm a cebuana but not staying in the Philippines anymore. I have stayed last October. From waterfront hotel lahug for 2 weeks and because of my Mom request she wanted near @the beach I ask my husband to book for me,since we have account in booking.com before I go in costabella we already stay in Waterfront hotel and Marriot hotel Cebu and all was booked in booking.com under the name of my husband And I have all the documents from the authorization and the booking credit cards and my husband do emailed the hotel that I'm the wife and I'am the person will stay on his behalf.I don't really have a problem with the two hotels.ive been traveling around the globe but this beach resort was the most difficult in a way to booking.... WHY? they have some issues about it. They did not accept all of it they ask me to pay my own. It's really awkward on my part.but I don't want hustle anymore because I'm already tired so I need a room with my mom.then it happen that some of my siblings will visit to bond of my last night of stay. We go to the RESTAURANT to have some dinner and drinks and invite some of my siblings and cousins of my last night in Cebu it is 11pm some of my 3 sibling came but the security and the lady @the reception said visitors only until 11pm if they will stay until 12am they have to charge me.what???? Why we are @the restaurant and having some drinks why they have to charge me.as if they will gonna stay i ask the receptionist they just stay at the resto not overnight in the room!!! but the lady refuse me that they have to charge me So funny Management Rules So now tell me why? I don't want to recommend this resort....
PS.
They also double charge my husband credit card and give me a sorry note

Dear Theresa V,

Thank you for letting us know your concerns. Our apologies if your vacation did not turn out the way you have expected it.

We understand how you feel. Unfortunately, under Philippine Banking laws, the physical credit card is required to be presented by the cardholder upon check-in. As such, Costabella does not to honor any 3rd party booking. This is indicated when you make your reservation with Booking.com or any online engine. Whatever transaction made with the credit card that was not consumed is charged back to the card holder.

It is a matter of guest security that our Resort is particular with screening visitors of our guests. Visitors are allowed only until 10 pm and the extension of until 11 pm is already a consideration that is granted to our guests particularly Balikbayans who want to spend time with family. To avoid breach of security, visitors who stay beyond 11 pm are already required to register and be part of the in-house guests.

We hope our clarification will merit your kind understanding. If you have a change of heart, a warm welcome will always await you in Costabella.

Service, room and food was impeccable. The pool and dining area was set out nicely. Food and drinks were amazing. Must try: spider rolls. Our bed was a triple king size or something, huge. It was my birthday and the chef made a delightful chocolate mud cake with a candle and sang happy birthday with the other kitchen / restaurant staff! Great experience at Costa Bella.

Thank you for spending your birthday in Costabella. It is great to be part of that memorable occasion and we are glad that we cheered you up that day.

Indeed our Costa King has gained popularity among our guests because it is almost 50% bigger that the regular king size. We are glad that you enjoyed it too and found your stay to be fantastic.

Thank you for the wonderful compliments, that will inspire us to even do better.

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights with a group of friends. The a-la-carte breakfast is nice with reasonable price. We've pre-ordered a birthday cake for our birthday gals through email. It was also nice with reasonable price. Nice view from the room. Relax hotel. Pool with lifeguard. Feel safe.
At the time we checked-in, the front desk girls were kind of impolite. Other than them, the staff in the concierge are great! Polite and helpful.
However, if you want to go out of the hotel to have dinner in other places or shopping the city, it is very inconvenient. It did consumed plent of time to wait for a taxi. We did wait for over half hour to wait for two taxi to the airport. Lucky that we did catch the plane.

Dear DorasMacao,

Thank you for choosing Costabella for the cozy birthday celebration of your friend. We are glad you enjoyed bonding at the Resort. It is nice to know that here, you feel relaxed and safe.

We are known to be genuinely caring and attentive to our guests. It will be nice if you can e-mail us directly at mktg@costabellaresort.com to further elaborate your experience with our Front Desk Team so we can address your concern. Thank you for appreciating the services of our Guest Service Team.

The Resort has a daily free drop-off service to two big malls in Cebu City. Ren-a-car service is also available given an hour of reservation. Taxis are always subject to availability and depending on the traffic usage, waiting time ranges from 5 to 45 mins. Rent-a-car service is always more reliable if you have a flight to catch.

It will be wonderful to have you back.

Read mixed reviews but decided to give it a try. Room was spotless, large and very quiet apart from the old style aircon. Food was good and not too expensive. Pool/garden area was good with plenty of loungers and welcome shade. Beach ok but sea not suitable for swimming because of seaweed. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

Dear tg888,

We are glad to have met your expectations, thank you for choosing us for your holiday. It is nice to hear how much you appreciate our friendly and helpful team.

The presence of seaweed is a positive sign that our ecosystem is good and our water
is healthy making it suitable for swimming.

We all look forward to have you back in Costabella to fully enjoy our facilities.
