Our room (102) needs refurbishing. It was clearly designed by an amateur who hadn't thought through the design. The room is quite long but very narrow with a small, very poorly equipped bathroom. Kitchenette pretty useless. The hotel charges for the room safe. The WiFi is very poor in this room. The television and dressing room mirror are the wrong way round for the design of the dressing table. There are too many pillows and cushions on the beds. The toilet roll holder was designed by an imbecile. The flush system needs overhaul or replacement. There are better rooms at the other end of the hotel but they must be even more expensive. Those are the main bad points.
The good point, overwhelmingly, is the location on this great beach (Dover). Also we really enjoyed the band on (I think) Sunday night, which played Carole King, James Taylor, Harry Belafonte and other classics, and played them really well. The afternoon tea at 4pm became a habit, the restaurant was pretty good though as we were on half board I was pretty happy when the 'fine dining' menu finally changed.
It is a good place to really relax and swim a bit but I thought severely overpriced for what it offered in terms of amenities.More
