Great hotel, amazing people!
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Apr 21, 2017
I loved the room, which was quiet, spacious and clean. The swimmingpool is really big and clean. The hotel was very clean and the people working there were always available to help, very nice people. I have to say the bald guy working there was very kind and helpful!

We have stayed at this hotel for a week as 2 families consisting of a 4 month old baby, teens and adults. We arrived at the hotel after a long trip finding very good variety dishes and delicious food being served from 2 waiters named Stefano and Alessandro who were extremely friendly, helpful, geniune , hardworking and most of all made our holiday a one to remember despite their kind effecient service along with the other team as well. All of the team went an extra mile to give us their best service and to adapt to our needs especially for the baby. In addition, the rooms were very clean. Every day was different from one another and there was nothing to complain about. We would like to thank everyone especially Stefano and Alessandro for their friendship and impressive customer care. Would definately recommand this hotel especially for the ones who love to dine and experience excellent tastes!

We had a large room with a courtyard view. Comfy bed and nice shower. There was a really lovely outdoor pool with entertainment a few minutes walk through the field. A great stop after a very busy walking day.

We stayed for a short spa break at the hotel. The rooms are pleasant and the spa was great, but the rest of the experience was below average. The staff were generally unfriendly, the breakfast terrible and the hotel lacked any character or ambience.

Room tip: Ask for a room that overlooks the pool, as the ones at the front are on the main road.

Some good, some not so good. The Esperidi (whilst looking like a multi-storey car park from the outside) is well managed, with some nice gadgety-type security facets.
Breakfast was poor, with urns not plugged in resulting in tepid drinks.
Choice of 2 cereals, sour instant coffee, rock hard bread (just leave it in the packet?!)
Nothing hot to eat, just sweets, sweets, sweets, and yoghurt, bread, and the occasional visit from a lonely chocolate croissant.
Staff only speak broken English, though that can be fun, we English are so arrogant aren't we?
Grounds are beautiful, but location quite isolated.
Indoor pool open one (1!) hour per day, and outdoor pool so full of algae there might be some dead bodies in it (seriously like the swamp scene on Lord of the Rings).

However, staff very helpful, everyone friendly and pleasant, reception area looked lovely, and the weather was great!

Would stay again if on business (cheap rates) but probably not for a vacation.
Would rather be on one if the local farm/olive groves/vineyard complexes. We visited one and they are truly beautiful and feel like authentic Sicilian culture.

Agree completely with many of the other 1-2 ratings given on this hotel.
It is in the midst of no where. There is no transportation. And recommended taxi service is a friend of the front desk that charged 15E to get to downtown center that is only < 2-miles away.
The meals, less breakfast are 20E each and you have no choice unless you want to walk 1/2 mile up the road. Which provides more choices, but limited. There is a McDonalds up the road, too. I bet the recommended taxi driver would charge 15E to port you there.
We walked a lot, we have no fear, but would not be walking in the middle of the night, as the roads are narrow, curvy, and little lighting.
There is a place about a mile up the road called "Area 14(?)" which has a bar, sushi, cafeteria. Well worth the walk. Right near there are some super markets.
So the hotel itself...I think if the staff had been more helpful, it might have made a difference. They did not provide a map of the city. I managed to get somebody to print one. One staff said look on the wall, and it was behind something there in the lobby, so small print that you needed a magnify glass and had to be tall enough to read. No matter what question asked, the response was limited or negative.
The only individual behind the desk that was helpful was SIMONA. I asked her about some departure times for tickets on the train. She looked and printed them out, when the other staff member saw her do that, he said something and she continued, I gave him a glaring look and he walked away. There was another occasion when she tried helping us and this same guy interrupted and took over the conversation.
The facility is so so, they have a wonderful pool that is freezing - not like other pools with warm water. Then we are laying out for a few hours and the workers began working around us and SMOKING. It was obvious we had to move. But it was so rude, they could have asked us to move.
I've lived in Italy and will not say Italians are rude in general, but this staff clearly had no compassion or concern for their guest, or was it us?
I would never return to this hotel, nor recommend it. And if a chain, I'd probably quickly strike it from my list. I suggested to the staff to have some maps and list of places in the vicinity for guest - they just looked at me like I was an idiot.
Oh by the way, I do speak Italian and understand gestures.

Yes, free WiFi, but limited to lobby - not public areas as advertised (not at pool, outside patio, etc.)
Yes, free breakfast, good spread, but dark - you need to sit by window if you are use to light. They tend to be very conservative.
While value may have been good, not worth the staff aggravation and being in the middle of no where - if vacation was to get away and just lay by the pool for a few days, this may be a good locale.
Refrigerator was available in room, but not very cold despite adjustments.
Balcony yes, lovely, if you have a view. Awful if you are right above the smoking area patio because smoke travels up into your room.

Room tip: Avoid the place...
