We booked to go Canyoning through Turtle Bay Dive Resort, so Cyan was their choice and not ours for the day trip to Kawasan falls. At P3,500 per head this isn't a cheap option (hence just the 4 stars) , but the value for money is just about there. As others bumped about 3-up on a motorbike on the way up the mountain, or shivered in their shorts on they way down the river, we travelled in basic comfort in a jeepney and enjoyed the warmth of wet suits in the water. We were accompanied by two guides the whole way for a group of five, so felt really well looked after and safe at all times. Our guides were loads of fun, and took photos and video the whole way to record our exploits. Lunch was included in our price. In the days after the excursion, Cyan uploaded the photos and videos to a shared dropbox - a really nice touch.

I went on this tour with a group of friends. When choosing the tour operator we were a bit wondering as to why Cyan was double the price of the other operators in Moalboal, but we instantly found it totally worth the money. We were picked up at our hotel and transferred to Cyan's headquarters and we were provided with full protection gear: wetsuits, diving shoes, lifejackets, helmets, water and towels. When we got to starting point we realized how important it is to wear all the mentioned equipment. On the tour we went hiking, trekking, swimming and jumping from cliffs. It's an requirement to jump minimum four meters from a cliff down into the river.
The guides were amazing and took all the time we needed, as they said "you're on vacation". Especially the guide Elmer is worth mentioning. The guides took pictures and videos during the entire trip and they were sent to our private e-mail a few days after the tour. During the tour we had snackbreaks and at the end we had a great lunch, which was provided by the tour operator.
The nature around Kawasan Falls were so beautiful. My friends and I had the most exciting, fun, adventurous tour and we highly recommend this tour operator for this kind of trip!
Cyan is an amazing tour operator. We did the Kawasan fall tour with them and it was an amazing experience. The guide was very friendly and helpful. We got picked up at our resort and drove to the shop first. There we got fully equipped with full body wet suits, shoes, helmets, live jacket and some other equipment. The full body suits turned out to be very helpful as all other tour operators do not include these in their package but they really protect you from getting scratches and hurting yourself at the rocks or anything else. And they keep your body warm in the slightly cold water. However our guide really took his time to take pictures of us and let us enjoying the trip and not rushing like the other tourgroups. In the end we had dinner before they brought us back to the hotel. The trip took about 8 to 9 hours, was amazing and we highly recommend Cyan as the tour operator for the canyoning at Kawasan falls.
myself and 2 others travelled to cebu in Jan, and I came across cyan adventures website. I saw their moalboal adventuring packages. The info provided was clear and i never had any apprehension in booking their tour online. Their response to Emails were very fast. I booked the 3 waterfalls trip on day 1. And, on day 2, i booked the osmena peak trekking. On both days we were accompanied by our very excellent guide victoria. For osmena trek, Mark, another guide also came with us. Both Mark and victoria were very professional and we were very happy to have them as our guides. The tour included water bottle, snacks, an excellent lunch at matutinao resort. Also, we were picked up from our resort itself on both days. The jeepney driver was also excellent. For the anguidid waterfall trip, we were provided special shoes for rock climbing. Also, victoria had brought a big waterproof bag along with camera. She took pics of us, while trekking. Cyan adventures shared the pics thro dropbox within a week. I would highly recommend them and it was well worth the money spent. And, i would like to thank them for making our cebu trip a truly memorable one.
Went on this trip as a couple and had an amazing day, it was probably one of our highlights from our 4 month trip so far. The staff are really helpful with good English and explain things clearly (which direction to move into to avoid strong currents etc).
Cyan provide you with wetsuits, booties and a good helmet. The wetsuit made the day much more enjoyable, the water is fairly cold and everybody on other trips were shivering.
The trip is a must do whilst in moalboal, you slide backwards down the canyons, jump up to 15 meters high and float along down the river.
After the trip we had a nice lunch with the group (fish, chicken, rice etc) and free beer. Definitely recommend!
My boyfriend and I booked the whale-shark encounter in Oslob, and Kawasan Falls adventure through Cyan Adventures one week before our trip to the Philippines. We chatted with an agent online and they were SUPER helpful with the booking and answered all the questions and concerns we had.
When the day came for our excursion, they picked us up at 5am from our resort and drove us 2 hours out to Oslob, as we were staying in Moalboal. There were no others booked for the tour, so we had the guide, Mark, and the driver, Genie-boy, to ourselves... amazing! At first, we thought the price was quite steep but we realized once we got there, they seemed to be quite familiar with the employees at the whale-shark area and were able to get us on a boat quite soon. They even provided us with our own camera (included in the price) of $95 USD and we were able to take as many videos and pictures as we wanted! Camera quality wasn't the best but it's better than buying our own for a one-day excursion.
The whale-shark experience was absolutely breath-taking! We were asked to stay 4m away from the whale-shark at all times, which we tried our best to, but there one of the girls on our boat didn't realize a whale-shark had snuck up behind her and accidentally kicked it in the face! We were out there for about 30 minutes, but we had at least 10 encounters with the shark as it followed a boat, gulping all the shrimp it could. It did seem like the whale-sharks were used to human interactions and relied on the boaters with shrimp for their source of food every morning. They stayed within the circle that the tourist boats had created around them, but no one touched them and the company that ran this said that they had a "marine biologist" on every boat. Either way, I'm very glad we got to experience this! One thing checked off the top of my Philippines bucket list!
Following the whale-shark encounter, we were given a menu and asked to choose a meal (complimentary). Wasn't delicious but we were starving at that point. Had our lunch, hung out with a stray dog, and headed towards Kawasan Falls. (They gave us the option of 3 choices and we chose this one... there was two falls and a hot spring I believe?)
The Kawasan Falls were quite beautiful, and Mark even took us up for a little hike to see another set of falls and bought us a "Banana-Q" on our way back down. He was a great tour guide who was very accommodating to our interests and needs. He made sure we were enjoying ourselves and gave us fun-facts about the area and sights on the way to-and-from our resort (he even showed us where we could get some late-night Balut). We even blasted some American Top-Hits and had a small karaoke session!
We highly recommend Cyan tours! Thanks Mark, for showing us such a good time in Moalboal.
