This resort is a hidden gem! It is quite a distance away from Cebu City, about 3-4 hours and is a little hidden, so I would advise you to arrange transportation. We already had a tour package, so transportation was included but we had arranged a driver beforehand to drop us off at the airport on the way back for 3000 pesos.

When we arrived, the receptionist, Anne Marie was welcoming. She took us to our room, number 12. The room is very spacious, clean and has a great view of the sea. It felt very hot as the AC wasn't working but Anne Marie was very quick to address our minor issue and brought us a fan. She also called the air-con repair man to come and have a look, and it was immediately fixed.

We had dinner at the restaurant and were lucky enough to meet the owner, Fe. She is a truly inspirational individual, she had shared how her resort started from a small project to what it is today, still expanding! The purpose, her beliefs and her values translates to how she has depicted her resort and how she trains her staff so that they have skills and a living.

The food by the chef was excellent. It does take some time but very well worth waiting for. We had ordered kinilaw (local fish dish - like ceviche), baked eggplant, fish and chips, grilled tuna, carbonara, chicken pork adobo. The fish is freshly caught and is personally selected to ensure the freshness. You may pay a little more than usual but we didn't mind so much after hearing Fe's story. The staff were very friendly and made a point to remember my name. Thank you Chef Emma, Cesar, Paul, Jelenni for the great service! Breakfast was alright - local dishes with, some cereal, toast, and breads. Just enough to get the day going!

If you are a diver, this is a diver's paradise! You don't have to go so deep 15-20 meters max. You will be able to see turtles, ball of sardines etc. CJ, Robin and the diving crew were very helpful and really knew where to guide us. We felt safe and the equipment was well maintained. Thank you guys for such a terrific experience!

Room Tip: room 12 is fantastic!

Wonderful dive experience! Responsible dive masters RJ and Rubin. We've also had a great experience with Ceejay as our Dive Instructor. He was meticulous, friendly and made it a point to regularly check up on us. Top quality gear. Boats are even stocked with cookies and hot water for coffee/tea when we surface. Waters are clear with an abundance of starfish, turtles and even sardines! Area is not too commercialised, which means that we did not have to wrestle with tourist crowds for water space. Thumbs up!

As for the dive resort, we were comfortable with the clean rooms and sheets. Rooms are also spacious. It is also only a 10min drive (on a tricycle) away from a small town where you can find food, bars and small convenience stores.

Dive resort and Dive shop belonged to the same owner, which makes our entire dive trip effortless to plan. Highly recommended and we're already itching to return.

We were rather disappointed with our stay here. The resort is large and spacious with an eerie emptiness, the ocean is weedy and shallow. The beers were the most expensive we've encountered in the entire Philippines at P120!!! Go next door to Magic Island for normal priced beers. The 15min trike ride to the isolated resort is really really gnarly off the main rd, especially if the trike lacks proper suspension. If you have back problems, get a different kind vehicle to take you in and out. On a positive note, the restaurant is very delicious.

Dear Iheartmauao,

Warm greetings from Turtle Bay Dive Resort!

On behalf of the Management and staff of Turtle Bay Dive Resort, we would like to express our gratitude for sharing your experience with us. In response to your comment, the sea level is only low at low tide however it is still deep enough to snorkel. When you swim out 50m you get to the drop off where the coral wall drops to 50M +.

Thus, with a short swim divers and snorkelers can enjoy the coral and marine life at any state of the tide.

The only weed in the sea is in the small area in front of Sampaguita between the two boat jetties. The coral reef in front of the resort is beautiful and a must-see for all guests..

The price of our beers has been dropped. When comparing with other establishments selling beer, bear in mind that we pay the 12% sales tax, we pay at least minimum wage to all staff, we pay income tax, we incur significant cost maintaining the landscaped grounds, restaurants and bars.

Just like the other resorts in the area, we are at the mercy of the local government on the condition of the 1.5km dirt road that connects the resort to the main road between Panagsama Beach and Moalboal. For guests who do not like to ride public tricycles or hire motorbikes, we provide a resort jeepney or air-conditioned van for local transport,

Again, we express our gratefulness for your comments and we are trying our best to serve guests like you with our best.

Thank you and

Best Regards,

Chris White

The resort has awesome dive sites, instructor and dive masters! We did our Advanced Open Water and managed to log 8 dives throughout our 3 days. Ceejay and the team were really attentive in ensuring our safety during each dive and made our experience an unforgettable one.

Resort staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean as well, much more than we would expect of a dive resort ; ) Recommended! Thanks for making our stay so comfortable : )

Turtle Bay Resort is a great retreat for those who want to get away from it all. It's about 2-3km from Panagsama with its restaurants and night-life, and a similar distance to Moalboal town.

The resort can book a tuk-tuk for you but it would be better if they provided a shuttle service.

As a resort, its very nice, with quite extensive grounds, a swimming pool, a restaurant, good view of the sea, and some 30 rooms. This is a proper, professional set-up, buildings are well built, newly painted though some will find it a little stark and severe compared to the homey atmosphere of many small resorts.

Nothing to complain about in the rooms - I liked the fact that they provide plastic tumblers which can be filled for free in the restaurant, avoiding disposable plastic bottled water.

The restaurant is generally excellent with good quality food, large portions and a wide choice. Pricing is reasonable given the isolation and quality of food. We had many meals there and were happy with the service and food.

The dive center and facilities are very good and professionally run. They ave 2 dive boats in good condition, dive instructors with all dive sites a short boat ride away. There's also a very good house reef with drop off conveniently nearby.

By Moalboal standards, this is one of the biggest and best resorts in the area, professionally run and managed.
