Have just returned from our holiday at the Grand Hotel Salome and as previously commented we cannot fault the attentive staff and the perfect location. We have already booked for november and are looking forward to see the renovations that are taking place in the summer.
Only thing we could fault is in the main bar of the anthelia hotel which is 80% under cover there are no smoke free tables and non smokers have to move. This is a pity as it would be so easy to have a non smoking area.

Room Tip: we prefer 3rd floor

We have just returned from the Grand Salome hotel following a weeks stay and I will be returning next year as this hotel has got to be the best hotel I have ever stayed in. We received a friendly welcome by Kim the assistant manager then taken to the room by Fran one of the lovely butlers they have there. We were shown around the suite and how things worked as well as where to go for breakfast.
The suite was spacious, lovely furnishings and a large comfortable bed with a choice of pillows! Bathroom had a whirpool bath and a shower and lots of complimentary toiletries and use of robe and slippers.
There was champagne on ice and strawberries in chocolate on arrival in the room which we enjoyed on the spacious balcony with two sunbeds table and chairs and a sofa. It was certainly a room with a view overlooking the sea with stunning sun sets on an evening.
Pool area was spacious and comfortable with a heated pool. I have never seen such a clean immaculate toilet in a pool area!
However the usual "booking" of sunbeds took place so people could secure their favourite spot! We didn't bother......there was plenty of beds for everyone. Complimentary aperitifs, afternoon tea and cake lent to the lovely relaxed atmosphere helped by the lovely Alex another one of the butlers and the barman whos name I cant recall.
We were bed and breakfast and what I loved was the breakfast was in a separate outdoor area to the main restaurant so was more quiet and relaxed. You could get table service which we did but found this to be a bit hit and miss. Maybe need more staff?
The location was excellent with access to the promenade, walks, beaches, shops bars and restaurants on your doorstep.
All in all a chilled relaxing holiday in a superb location with wonderful staff. Cant wait to go back!

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms with access straight onto the pool area. Higher floors more sun and views and the corner rooms more spacious balconies.

We have just returned from a holiday in this wonderful hotel, we stayed with friends
The suites are placed on three floors. Ground floor- easy access to the pool, second and third floor - lovely views of the see
Breakfast on The Mirador Terrace, with wonderful views of The Atlantic, lovely start of the day.
The sun beds, water temperature in the pool and the lunch restaurant makes the pool area just excellent.
In the evening we enjoyed the buffet restaurant Zeus and the gourmet restaurant Poseidon, both very good food and service.
We stayed all inclusive - really a value for money.
Thanks to the entire staff, doing evrything to make our holiday the best.
We look forward to our next visit and to see the total renovation of The Salome.

This is a great adult only hotel to take a break. Service is excellent with al l the staff very attentive and working hard to make your stay enjoyable I should make a special mention of Richard at the pool bar and the butlers Fran and Alex. The heated pool is terrific
The buffet attached to the main hotel is excellent but unfortunately the Italian restaurant is very poor

we spent a week in this 5* Hotel, a middle aged couple with an 11year old son and a 90 year old granpa and it was a pleasant experience for everyone. We had booked the all-inclusive, which would not have been necessary, as the extra in price was more than I suppose you could spend on top of the half-board.

the layout of the hotel offers enough quiet places a this time of the year to retire with a good book, indoors as well as outdoors. The pools are nice and clean and the water temperature is fine. The little gym offers a few divers machines, although I could imagine it to become crowded in full season.

the main restaurant as well as the a la carte offer a great changing variety with superb - and I am comparing to many other 5* places in the world - quality of food, although meat is not the strong point in Spain altogether. The service ranges from mostly excellent to good, at least as long as not too many people want to eat at the same time. Then, there might be a few minutes wait, unless you go along with taking any table on the inside of the restaurant. Also, clerks at the reception are very helpful and quick.

Rooms are a bit small, mostly with a third bed inside and there is room for improvement. Cleaning is ok, as well as the technical side (TV, WiFi etc.), but I would expect better at this price. There is animation every evening with a partly high niveau of entertainment, which also applies to the hotel bar that offers live jazz-singers of good standards. Speaking of the bar - forget the mixed drinks (coctails). They have the instant taste of the typical US-american species. So stay with the pure liquids and you won't be disappointed.

In summer, one might want to swim in the sea, which is quite possible there at the adjoining public beach, which is separated by just a nice little promenade. The general appeal of it is mixed, considering layout and the optical surrounding of highrises at a distance and life at its busiest. But that is a general aspect of the island. Tenerife is generally not considered as THE high quality place, but it is, if you stay in the few top hotels. Apart from that, we made a few trips into the island and the natural park around the volcano is quite nice and good for little hikes. Loroparque is a zoo that has an emphasis on parrots, but shows many other animals (from penguin to gorilla) with good shows. The park does compare in layout and atmospheric quality - although by far not in size to Disney's animal kingdom. About 4-5 hours are enough for it. If you are a water buff, go to the Siam park. Also with a nice layout that goes well beyond bare slides.

Room Tip: Even many non-ocean view rooms have a good side view to the water with a nice area outside and no facing walls nearby
