This service is part of the trip to Papagayo beach. The full trip to Papagayo costs 15 euros, but you can do a return trip to Rubicon Marina for 10 euros or 6 euros one way (using it as a water taxi). We chose the one way from Playa Blanca to Rubicon Marina.
We paid our money at 11.10 and was told the ferry would arrive around 11.20 for a 11.30 departure. By 11.35 the ferry still hadn't appeared, so I went back to the office to ask the staff when it was arriving.
The sales lady who when selling tickets had been all smiles, was now most dismissive and just said it will turn up, which it did 5 minutes later. However, some pleasantries wouldn't have gone amiss. Obviously once they had your money they couldn't care less.
The trip to Rubicon took about 5 minutes, which seemed over-priced for the journey.
Unless you are going on the full trip to Papagayo or are not very fit, I would recommend walking along the promenade to Rubicon and save your 6 euros for a drink!

We took the express waterbus from Puerto Del Carmen to Puerto Calero in March 2018. My father has a disability which means he is very wobbly and uses a walker. The captain of the boat was wonderful and helped us on and off at the other end. She brought us all the way along the marina and up to the solid ground. A fantastic lady and great captain. A great trip to do. Thank you.
