The place is not a posh as you would like it to be. The price itself is not that expensive anyway. But I hope that it will be worth it. Easy to find location. Rooms needs updating and security must be priority. It would be nicer if rubbish bins will be provided on strategically around the accommodations and near the beach. Family had fun anyway.

200php per person is a fairly cheap price and it says a lot about the place.

Arriving at the resort with my family, the first problem we encountered was the lack of signs and staff who may lead us or even point us to the direction of the beach, as well as our cottage and cavana. In addition, it is really hard not to notice the amount of people at the resort -it was too overcrowded and the cavanas were all cramped to fit a small space. However, that wouldn’t really be much of a problem if the resort was clean and someone was managing things but it wasn’t. In my whole time at the resort, I never saw anyone cleaning the tables nor the rooms or anyone you can complain to. Aside from that, while we’re having lunch at our cavana, people from our left and right our doing separate karaokes, so you can just imagine the noise pollution in that place. Furthermore, as I head for a swim, I saw a lot of plastic wrappers, plastic bottles, cigarettes all over the beach and even in the water so I found myself and my family not swimming at all.

All I can say is I really can’t find anything good about this place. It was a total waste of time and money. The place lacks management and cleanliness. With that, I really don’t recommend this place, especially if you’re bringing kids with you. No one in our family enjoyed, as some are either complaining about how dirty the water was or how crowded and noisy the people are. Indeed, there are a lot of things not worth paying for a cheap price.

I organized a teambuilding event for my team last April 8-9 at this resort. Booking and reserving was hassle free since kuya Ronald (contact person) is easy to contact through his mobile phone and landline and easy to deal with.
We were left with Marina kubo since we are a group of 20. It has 2 toilets and 3 rooms. extra beds per room was readily available. It has a water dispenser and chest fridge. In all infairness, the cabin was clean naman.

Cons:
-Kitchen alloted for the kubo needs a little walk (steps lang naman)
-i suggest that the management to revisit every kubo as they may need a little renovating.
-walk way is a too narrow thus making the resort look more crowded as the cabins and cottages are almost close to each other.

Area: Laiya, San Juan, Batangas
Laiya Grande has no directional signs to their location. You will only see the resort’s name in the List of Resorts on the turn-off from the main road then you have to pass through an alley before reaching the resort entrance.

We rented the Marina Nipa Hut Cottage (overnight rate of 15K but given to us at discounted price of 12K) which is a two-storey accommodation with three air-conditioned bedrooms, 2 toilet/shower rooms, living area and dining area. The cottage is just a few minutes walk to the beachfront.

The upper floor has a veranda with dining area for four persons, a common toilet/shower room and two bedrooms with queen bed and a fold-out mattress in each room. There are no closet to hang your clothes but you can air-dry you wet clothes on the veranda. The lower floor has a living area and a larger dining area, another toilet/shower room and a bedroom with three queen beds.

The room where we stayed has faulty light bulb that keeps blinking so we just turned it off and used the deco lamp as the light source. There is a water heater on the shower area on the upper level but we were not able to use it as it is also defective (water leaks on the valve and does not reach the shower head) and the water pressure is low. When someone is taking a shower on the lower level, there is no water on the upper level so we have to use a pail and dipper.

You can use rice cooker or similar electricty-operated applicances in the cottage but if you want to make use of countertop stove, you have to pay a fee (but we were allowed to use for free) and go to a common washing/cooking area shared by other cottages. Likewise there is no sink/basin for dishwashing in our cottage so we also have to go to this place to wash our plates, etc.

We were provided with a dispenser with free one 5-gallon water but the hot dispenser is not working, thus, the free use of countertop stove.

While the above description seems mostly negative, we may still go back for another time should we visit Laiya again. Prior to our stay, I have already managed my expectation of the resort as I know this is not on the same level as Blue Coral (where I have been several years ago). Also, the staff are friendly and easy to talk with. Most of our time was likewise spent on the beach and we only stayed in the cottage to eat and sleep . Nonetheless, I hope they will renovate the shower area and improve the water delivery system.
