Owner description: At the doors of the city of Dijon, on the Route des Grands Crus, the Chateau de Marsannay has a real welcoming structure with its cellars, its wine tastings, its 400m2 reception room and parking for cars and buses. Throughout the year, guided tastings and activities by appointment are organized for individuals, groups and companies.

We visited the Chateau over a rainy Easter weekend and spent over an hour with Emmanuel who shared his in-depth knowledge of the terroir and wines of the region as well as introducing us to the range of fantastic reds (and some whites) in the cellar. He certainly demystified this area of the Bourgogne for myself and my wife and was charming and unstuffy to boot which is not always the case when visiting institutions like this. We ended up buying a fair amount of wine! I would recommend a visit.

We visited the Chateau on Sept 8th. Emmanuel was a wonderful guide and very funny. His explanation of the region, the soils, and the vinification process was great. He took his time to explain (in French and in English) the nuances of the different wines we tasted, what to look for in each, and coaxed us to describe what we found in each wine. We purchased wine to ship to the US and the process was very easy. Emmanuel made wine approachable through his great demeanour. We learned a lot and are grateful. The wine arrived on Oct 14th without a problem. We would do this again!

Although not one of the older Caves, this tour and tasting was great.
Our guide Emmanuel was really knowledgeable and explained everything in terms we all could understand.
Not being a wine person ( except to drink it )
I really enjoyed it.
Just long enough, and then a great tasting.

Very nice informative guide explaining the region, the soil types and basics of wine making. Our guide Katerina was very informative and gracious. For the novice it is an excellent introduction to wines. The tasting provided a basic understanding of the progression from ordinary to more sophisticated higher grade wines. Make reservations first, it worked out for us as walk ins but a phone call will ensure your visit.

We had a very informative tour with Pierre-Etienne, who taught us a lot about the regional vineyards and wine making. We're not connaisseurs, but came away with a better appreciation for wine tasting. The Chateau de Marsannay winery is close to the northern end of the scenic Route ses Grands Crus.
