MrsCapricorn and I, having suffered the awfulness of what has become of the Black Bull, decided to give the Rose and Crown a try for Sunday lunch. It was a very good decision.
The welcome was friendly from staff and clientele alike. The food was delicious ( we both opted for the roast beef lunch): excellent quality, piping hot, and with a good range of vegetables. If I had one very minor criticism, it was that the gravy was a tad salty for my taste; other customers might disagree. Service was quick and comprehensive.
The decor was a little faded; however, that rather adds to the charm of the pub. There is a good range of drinks of all types.
Overall, I thoroughly recommend the Rose and Crown if you are in Otley.
