don't go if it is raining or snowing, as most of the animals will go in incognito. I saw snow leopard, black bear etc in a natural like enclosure.

What most travellers thought to be negative in this zoo was the very thing which made me love it especially since there were hardly many tourists thereby making it peaceful. It is basically a forest converted into a zoo with spacious enclosures for the animals so that they dont feel like they are in a zoo. The animals are free to roam about in their natural habitat. The walk inside the zoo was awesome with really good views all around. We saw all the animals that were in the zoo - Red Panda, Snow Leopard, Common Leopard, Leopard Cat, Yak, Barking Deer, Thar, Civet, Himalayan Tahr.

Don't go to this zoo if:
1. You can't walk long distances esp slopes.
2. You need to see an animal every 2 min you walk
3. The enclosures be overcrowded with animals
4. Expect lot of animals.

PS: Food in the restaurant is simple but tasty

Pretty boring place, doesn’t have much to offer. Pls avoid it. First of all, it’s starts with a very steep climb and the enclosures of each animal is pretty far from the other. As it’s more or less in a natural habitat, spotting them is also difficult.
The only saving soul were the red pandas.

Not very much to offer for the tourist, there should be some more interactivity for the tourist. Its a simple ordinary zoo.

We went there to see the red panda and the snow leopard and both sightings were great. However there wasn't anything more of substance. Loved the forest look though, we went there the morning after heavy rains and it felt very much like a dense rain forest.
