“Very good dive resort - can recommend to all wanting to dive Malapascua Island”

We stayed 4 nights and were most happy with all aspects of the resort.
The beachside location is true tropical paradise material with white shelly sand, coconut trees and a warm gentle ocean to swim in. Dive boat leaves from right off the beach - so convenient! Food and service at restaurant good. Deluxe room was very clean comfortable with quality furniture and working plumbing and aircon (not common in Phils!).
The owners are doing great community work with the local children - running a reading English program which the dive instructors help out at. Guests are encouraged to bring some kids storybooks to donate to the program. We bought 15 books to add to the little library.

Room Tip: Our room near the beach had a nice porch to sit on and enjoy the ocean view.

Stayed here in march 2017. Weather was cooler than average, so diving was chilly. The resort is very small and simple. No pool, and it was missed since most dive resorts we've been to have one.

- if you take public ferry from mainland to malapascua, the walk from the drop off to evolution is a solid 10-15 min walk, on soft sand. If you have rolling suit cases, this is agonizing. Hire a porter on the beach for 50 php, worth it.
- the restaurant in the resort called the "Craic house" makes very good food. We were not disappointed with any dish. Average cost is 300php a dish. 60php for beer.
- we did 6 dives with them. Two at monad shoal for thresher sharks. It's very high success rate to see threshers, so don't worry. Staff is friendly, DMs are good. Dive boats are a bit of chaos when it comes to getting into the water. They lay all the tanks with regs/bcd on the deck of the boat, then all the divers climb around each other to get to their tank. Could be organized a little better - but it works. They take care of all your equipment, you just put all your stuff in a bin and then they make sure your bin is always on the boat when you sign up for a dive, they even wash it which was a first for us.

- room - large rooms, very clean. Beds are semi soft with only sheets, no comforter. AC worked great. Shower pressure is poor to terrible, but it depends how warm you want the water. Hot water will result in a pee stream of water and Warm water will result in decent shower pressure. No bugs came into our room, they are sealed well.

- beach is ok. The sand is really soft and powder like in some spots, heavy mix of sea shells as well. Water is not the best for swimming, lots of sea weed and coral 5 feet from shore and boats are very active in front of all the resorts.

Overall a nice quiet atmosphere, great for people focused on diving.

A quick trip to experience the new rooms and of course the diving! This was my 5th stay since 2011 with Evolution. The steady improvement of facilities, the service has always been outstanding, from the two original fan rooms on the beach to the 14 room A/C block is fantastic. The room are large and comfortable. The small water heaters do a great job of providing a warm shower after diving. The diving temps were 24-25 degrees a little cooler for those used to diving warmer water. A private balcony provides space to sit outside.
The staff as friendly as ever. Well done guys!

Excellent from the word go enquiring about diving/accommodation.

Arranged a private transfer due to time constraints which was smooth; arriving to a warm welcome mid afternoon

Rooms are very clean and everything you need; much more than your standard Dive resort !! Little things such as filtered water, mini bar, air con etc go a long way.

Restaurant attached is super, mainly western dishes but majority are cooked better than back home ! Breakfast was included in my rate and is top notch...again the little things such as he banana & mango fruit salad that comes with all breakfast choices :)

Only negative is cost of the private transfers...if you have time do the taxi/bus then ferry option; saying that it's a private boat and taxi that runs smoothly so maybe worth the price if it's in your budget

Would love to come back !!

Thanks to all the friendly and helpful staff

Magnificent part of the world and as someone who had never dived before, what a great place to learn. Great, friendly staff, our instructor Nick was excellent, facilities were amazing, location spectacular and would recommend to anyone. The Monad Shoal dive with the Threshers is a must!
