Worth to came earlier because for me was more interesting to see how do the pelicans gathering to the feeding spot, rather that they eat. Big birds flying above you and walking to the coast, when they feel needed time ;)
Not much people around, so you could clearly see all the process.

The pelicans turn up about 1.30 for a feed. Great to watch. It can get a bit crowded on the weekend and I suggest getting there early so that you don't have to park the car too far from the shop, where they feed them. The only thing I didn't like is that some kids were chasing the pelicans after they were feed

We went to Charis Seafoods to buy a casual lunch and catch the pelican feeding. Great to watch, especially for the kids and the seafood from Charis brothers is great!

Fantastic Gold Coast tradition. Charis's seafood has been here since at least 1974 when I first came here on holiday....now I live here. Always has been the best fish and chips so fresh and crunchy batter. Started as a wooden beach shack now so famously on the same site. No thanks to the council!! Pelican feeding is the best but stand back when they start the feeding or you will get covered with fish guts !!!!!! Great for kids and its FREE

This is an awesome family activity that won't break the bank. It was so good to see the feeding of these majestic birds. About 50 pelicans arrived to the beach in the hour before 1:30 ready for a feed and once the attendant from the local seafood restaurant arrived the birds made their way (very quickly) to the shore. They were literally so close you could touch them. I wouldn't recommend it as they can bite.
This is a must of activity.
