This was my second time visiting the resort in one year!! The first time was with my family in late August 2015, we were all inclusive and had such an amazing time! Me and my boyfriend therefore decided to go back to the resort in July 2016 for our first holiday together - and we made the best choice!! The weather was beautiful all week at temperatures of 27 degrees and over!
When we first arrived at around 12:30pm we went to the reception desk where we were kindly greeted and given lots of information about the resort and the room that we would be staying in. The only annoying thing at this point was that we weren't able to check in until 3:00pm, however, we dropped our bags of into a room and took the time to go and explore the place for a while.
There is so much to see and do within this resort. There are 4 different swimming pools (one of them being the main), a marina where you can swim with sealions, go on jetski's, feed fish and do different sorts of water sports. The beach is literally a 30 second walk from the resort and it is surrounded by different shops and restaurants. There are also 4 different buildings that you can go to as part of the resort. 2 of these are restaurants/bars, one is a main stage with a bar inside (this is where the kids mini disco and shows were held every evening) and a club/bar.
This time around we went half board, but to buy lunch and drinks wasn't a problem for us at all!! Everything is at an amazing price over there, and even if it does seem too expensive you definitely get your money's worth!! We spend the most of our week laying by the main pool - sunbathing and enjoying the sunshine. However, one day we did go for a little explore out of the resort where we came across a load of shops/outlets and even a market!! (These were all about a 10/15 minute walk from the resort).
The fun coaches at the resort were excellent!! They are the ones who will try and get you involved with every activity possible and make your stay at the resort a happy, unforgettable and welcoming one. There was always something going on each day in which the fun coaches held such as water polo, table tennis tournaments, beach games, aqua aerobics and more! This is an excellent opportunity to get involved, and make friends (this is especially good for the children!!)
We liked to spend our evenings at El Faro, a bar/club at the resort and it is the best place to go to!! Every other night they had a Live DJ who was absolutely incredible! The view from the lounge bar is beautiful and the drinks are priced good too! We also went to the stage one evening to watch one of the shows held, which was also incredible too!
The restaurant does a different range of foods from different cultures and tastes insane!! Very good for food lovers and explorers, however if you are not, there is always something for everyone!
Last of all, the rooms in which you get are like mini apartments. We stayed in a superior deluxe bungalow and got maid service every single day!! If you were to go half board (like us) or self catering then there is a supermarket inside the resort in which you can buy your own drinks and food etc. There are kettles, microwaves, toasters and a fridge within the rooms!
You really cannot fault this resort at all, I would recommend it to anyone and go back there any time of the year as a couple we had the BEST first holiday and it will be very hard to try and top it the next time around! I would say it is an amazing family holiday with those with children! This place should definitely be a 5 star!!
