Hosts were exceptional in meeting any need. We found the hotel with a little difficulty, as the entrance is sign-posted next to a gate that does not lead to the hotel. We were suppored to take the dirt road on the left side of the gate; not go through the gate! Breakfast is fresh and plentiful, but very sweet as are all Italian breakfasts. Room was small but adequate, clean, and had everything we needed,

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are very quiet and offer an excellent view of the countryside.

Excellent location for exploring the western part of Sicily: pretty Scopello, the wonderful island of Favignana. This boutique hotel is comfortable and cosy. The scent of jasmine seems to be everywhere. In the summer the cook makes granite (shaved ice) from this flower out of the garden and watermelon. Best eaten with a brioche and served at … breakfast. We had a lemon granite with brioche for breakfast and many other home-made Italian treats, such as nutella cake and ricotta pies. It tasted even better with the sound of the Italian language on the background. The Italian owner, staff and his (Italian) guests were friendly and helpful. They are clearly very proud of their beautiful country and their food. And right so! The owner plans to add a restaurant to the hotel next year. I bet it will be a success.

We spent a delightful weekend, running away from the chaos of city life and plunging into the beauties of the Sicilian tradition countryside.
A few minutes' drive from the sea and the beaches, you may choose Custonaci as a basis in your exploration of West Sicily.
Refined and stylish, comfortable yet traditional, the hotel caters for couples, families and disabled, who will love the quiet atmosphere and personal welcome of the Battiata brothers.
Breakfast is an extraordinary experience of flavours and tastes, discovering local products and their loving preparation.
Highly recommended!

We staied at Baglio Catalano when we first arrived in Sicily for our vacation. Although a bit out of the way, it was still pretty close to Trapani, Erice and San Vito lo Capo. The drive from Custonaci to Trapani was great, along the coast (about 20 minutes away).
The room was large, clean and well decorated. It could have used a few more outlets for charging. We were in the older section. It was very quiet at night and we slept well.
Tonino is great, very friendly and full of information about the area.
Great breakfast with local food and baked goods.

Room Tip: Try to stay in the older section of the Baglio. The rooms are quieter. The newer section is closer to the road and hence there is a bit more noise when cars drive by. But the newer section has a shower instead of a hand held shower hose with bath tub.
