Since moving back to my hometown, my partner and I have had been here a number of times. Last time was for lunch on a weekday when the place was quieter and the food was great, even on days/evenings when the place is packed and the bistro is popular, the food is always the same, good, cheap and hot. The menu has basically been the same since I was a teenager, with some minor changes here and there.

I have eaten here multiple times and im sorry the food is outdated like its almost like im going out for a meal and its 1994 and im 6 years old again. No seasoning on the food the veges is boiled like crazy , I know old people dont have taste buts but come on. I get the schnitzel and its not crispy instead its soggy and the crumbs are obviously processed it looked gross , I olnly ate out because my mum went. Not to mention the stuff at the counter never smile when im served or my dad its the blonde lady

Im very shy and have anxiety and last year i got acused by one of the staff for being intoxicated and i do not drink at all and my mum had to stand up for me at 28 years of age , My father gets served and treated like he is senile and old when he is not he still drives a 30 foot truck at 73 years of age and very capable , My dads a little deaf and i always get this vibe of the stuff are fed up because he doesn't always hear well , So i ask the lady nicely im very polite did you get the 20 dollars and i get a sharp snappy answer with a rude tone of YES ITS ON THERE.

The food can be much better i mean look at Papanui club that food is quality fresh food and modern cooked from scratch where is here its an old bistro with a lot of pre done food cooked in bulk and not pre prepared.

I ended up walking home and thought wow i can get better food at the fish and chip shop or anywhere in kaiapoi for better value for money and nice friendly service.

You guys can do so much better you know. It feels more like a rest home with an old outdated bistro form the 90's.

The Kaiapoi Club Bistro has a good range on the menu, and I've yet to have a disappointing meal. The mixed grill is legendary and at $25 is amazing value. One thing we enjoy is the range of meals from a hearty steak through to a light salad, and a range of prices to suit every budget.

Lovely food, busy kitchen but turned out fresh and tasty delights. I had the orange roughy and it was as good as any top knotch restaurant serves. Cooked to perfection, lightly crumbed & a tasty sauce. The berry cheesecake was also a surprise, with a light fluffy whipped filling that was enjoyable right thru to the crust.
Pleasantly supplied - great work for a club restaurant. The other diners in group enjoyed blue cod, roasts, chicken tenders - all hearty meals.
