We have ordered from Hins many times over the past few years, mostly on line. The food has always been delivered on time, tasty and no problems arising, however this was not to be on our last delivery!

Saturday evening order placed 3x dishes, 2 sides and sauce. Order, total amount and delivery address clearly shown on "Your Order" print out on hubbies tablet. Delivery time stated at 8.09pm some considerable time after placing the order but we were happy to wait.

Delivery time came and went and we were absolutely starving! Hubby rang the shop to be told it was on it's way. Ten minutes later still no food, tried to call the shop again but no answer. Then get a message to say delivery is now running late and will be an extra 40 minutes past the original delivery time stated!

At approximately 9.20pm our intercom was pressed, gate opened for the delivery driver and our order placed which was in a soggy bottomed cardboard box was placed on our doorstep, the receipt cellotaped on the top. We always have the correct money ready to pay the delivery driver along with an extra £1 as a tip. The driver (female) then proceeded to ask for £4 extra than the original total price. We said that was not correct and that we had the money ready to pay for what was stated on our order form. We where then told no payment no food!! We explained we were going to pay but only the original price we had written on the order and why was there an extra £4 added on. The receipt was ripped off the top of the order and shown to us, all written in what looked like chinese, delivery address and price being £4 extra. We showed her the tablet with the order written on and the price we were paying, she did not know why there was an extra £4 added on, said she was only the delivery person and proceeded to ring her boss for me to speak too. We said we did not want to speak to her boss, we just wanted to pay and go and eat our food which had already been delivered very late past the original stated time. Her boss informed her that she was to collect payment with the extra £4, we refused to give that, the original total amount that we had ready was handed over which she was not happy with. She was still wanting to disagree over the final receipted amount so we said we had paid, were starving and therefore picked the box of food up and shut the door.

On getting the food inside the cardboard box that it was sat in the bottom was found to be damp and soggy, obviously things had been in there a while. All food was cold and one of the side dishes so badly burnt that it was not edible at all!!

This experience with Hins has left us very disappointed and upset, order delivered extremely late (no apologies given for this), more money demanded on delivery and on finally getting to eat the food to find it cold and burnt! Needless to say we will not be ordering from Hins again.

We’ve used Hins for 5 years and tonight is the very last time. The food is really good but the service has always been questionable......the same thing....promise a time, you turn up and wait for 20 mins, get insincere apologies. You order online and it takes 2 hours. I’m fed up the past 4 times has got worse and worse. Jinnah, Reshma, the chippys and dominos always deliver before or on time. Why can’t you? God knows why you are still in business.

We always ordered from Hins as the food was excellent. However delivery has been horrendous during lockdown. We gave them benefit of doubt, whenever we called to ask where food was we were told they were busy. Tonight we ordered at 17:30 and were told it would be another 30 minutes extra. That has happened every time since beginning of lockdown so we expected it. I called at 19:20 to ask where it was and was told that it was being cooked now and that they were busy. I asked how much longer and he avoided the question, when I asked for the third time politely how much longer he thought it would be, he screamed "IT IS BEING COOKED NOW!" and hung up. When the food arrived at 20:10 we finally ate but the food was not at the quality it usually is. It was overall flavourless with tough meat, not normal for Hins. We forgave the delays to support a local business that usually made tasty food, but after too many delays, the quality of our last meal and being screamed at they have lost us as loyal customers.

Absolutely love this Chinese and I am not a person who complains but I'm afraid I will be changing Chinese after 4 consecutive weeks of poor service. Given them the benefit of the doubt but tonight enough is enough

Week 1) Missing items,
Week 2)pre ordered for 2 hours time and arrived in 20 mins
Week 3) arrived 1 hour late
Week 4) arrived nearly 2hours late and stone cold.

Love you Hins but if you cant deliver as orderd dont over promise.

Tried to order from this takeaway on a recommendation. Ordered online as they didn’t answer the phone! Ordered stated that they would deliver 1 hour 30 minutes later, that was fine as we were out. 3 hours later they turned up at the door stating they wanted £2 more than what we had ordered including the delivery charge! Told them where they could go!!
If you can’t deliver on time or even near to that time, then don’t take the order!!!
