Do you know- we really enjoyed our lunch here. Libourne was a bit of disappointment as a town but just on this corner it is pretty well equipped for restaurants - and grand cafe was the right choice for us.

The steak tartar couteaux was tasty and rich, the Onglet steak well presented and nicely rare with the ravioli super with delicious sauce and well seasoned with herbs.

The fronsac wine ( from just up the road 5 km) delicious and well bodied.

All in all cheap dining of good quality.

Good service and clean - well looked after by the young lady who worked so hard

Thank you so much Grand Cafe!

We went here for lunch. My husband and brothers had the set menu, starter and main which were great; I had the salmon tagliatelle. Food was lovely but we left rather stuffed as the portions were rather large!
Good local wines here by the glass for €4.

We wanted a reasonably priced place for lunch. We got an attractive bustling restaurant where the menu de jour was typical for Libourne 16€ for three courses plus drinks.
Was it worth it not really starter was a small thin piece of pate and green salad, main course was a "gratin du salmon" and a green salad -it was really a fish stew in a very small dish with very little salmon and desert was a cup of pear with chocolate mousse it was nice but give the portion size and the price We are unlikely to go back

Only open for about 6 months in this current reincarnation so our first visit, and it went well.
Good menu selections and interesting menu of the day, which had a choice of 2/3 courses and was good value... servings looked generous.

I had their 5-cheeses vegetarian ravioli which was perfectly al-dente and tasty. My wife had the fish which was cooked properly (too many restaurants overcook fish) and served with a good selection of vegetables.

Big enough wine list and not over-the-top pricing.
Place was full of young local people which is a good sign.
Excellent, friendly service ... a pleasant experience.

Libourne has some very average restaurants so this is a welcome addition.
We will come again.

Good atmosphere, full of office workers everyday - which usually says a lot about a place, and fast service (however a bit slower for us being obvious tourists and having time on our hands).
Menus are good; 2 dishes for €13.00 or 3 for €15.50. Entree on its own €5, main on its own €9.50, dessert on its own €5.00!
There is also a la carte with a good variety of dishes at reasonable prices!
Coffee comes with proper toblerones and not cheap, yuk chocolates (bonus for me)!
Ate a steak tartare and enjoyed it. Wasn't too hungry so couldn't finish it nor taste anything else. Plates are filling (of course I was eyeing out everything that went by!!!)
Opening hours vary everyday so check before being disappointed!
'Hidden toilet' in wall, clean!! Great setting in centre of town.
Would come back again.
