A nice place for families but not recommended for professional skiers and advanced winter sports lovers.

Though we visited this place in summer when there was no ice we went up the rope way and had a good view of the surrounding mountains and the lush greenry of the area.

There are three - four lifts to choose from. The anchor one being most to my liking since the slope next to it was overall best skiing. Nearby is also the Beldersay resort and lift going way higher. Chimgan is plenty of fun. Lifts cost you about a dollar and change per ride. Had some nice sashliks for lunch.

Chimgan is located about 100 kilometers east of Tashkent, and can be reached in about 2 hours by car. The road is excellent, but can be icy after a snow fall. There are a few different locations to ski in the Chimgan area. The first one is about five kilometers before reaching Chimgan. It is called Beldersai. The ski hill has chairlift, which is used by skiers and non skiers alike. It can get crowded during week ends, as many non skiers go up the mountain for sight seeing. The length of the ride is about 2 kilometers. There is also a short ropeway lift at the top of the hill, where skiers can enjoy an easy slope. The main slope, down from the chair lift, is intermediate level, and actually quite nice to do. The chair lift cost 12,000 soums each time this year.
There is also a resort hotel situated near the slope, also called the Beldersai.
In Chimgan proper, there are a T Bar, and a chairlift also, but the ski areas are very crowded, especially on weekends. There are snowmobiles, quads, and horses going about the hill, and the area is very busy with non skiers. There are a few places to eat kebabs and other Uzbek food.
The third place where one can ski is located half a kilometer passed Chimgan, to the North. It is called Spartak. This is also a very good place to ski, especially for the beginners. It features two ropeways, using hooks, to proceed up the slope. Once you get used to using these hooks, it becomes more agreeable. That ski area also uses a snow groomer, which makes for good surfaces after a snowfall. It is run like a private club. It costs only 30,000 soums to use the lifts each day. It is never crowded, as it is only used by skiers.
Overall, Chimgan offers very good ski, not too far from the city of Tashkent. All locations there offer ski rentals.
This activity is recommended for skiers and non skiers alike, as a way to spend a day, or a few days away from the city. There are a few hotels in Chimgan, as well as cottages available for rental.
Highly recommended in the winter.
I did not visit in the summer.

The way to the mountains from tashkent is good stopped at many places to eat local food, nuts coated with caramel, local sarda sweet as sugarcane and mare milk which was very salty in taste.
Felt good once there the ski chair car has a nominal ticket, the chairs & ropeway seem really old and poorly maintained. Mountain at the top are covered with snow till may that is what locals told us. Journey up the top is around 20 mins and very scary there are some really deep trenches on the way up. View from the top is really great take some food or drinks to enjoy there as there is nothing to eat up there.
