Very tired and unpleasant hotel... the room was very small, very hot and stuffy with poor ventilation and a tiny window overlooking the dirty unkempt carpark. The room had stained carpet, a rusty radiator and stained sink and toilet with just a very dated shower. The bad had not been made up properly it just had a sheet on it with the actual duvet rolled up in a black bin bag on the floor! The walls needed a coat of paint and over all it felt dark and oppressive. We had booked in for 2 nights but left after 4 hours. There were 3 members of staff on reception and no one asked why we were checking out at 8.30 in the evening. This hotel has no redeeming features and needs closing for a total 're fit with air con added due to the very poor air flow in the tiny rooms. This is definately one not to stay at in its current state and shame on Travel Lodge for letting it get so bad and for taking money off people with the advertising image shown against this hotel when looking on line. Very misleading.

Room tip: Avoid this place

I stayed in the travelodge for one night, absolutely awful! The room smelt dirty, the window could only open a little bit so it was very hot and musty! The bed was very uncomfortable, it was made with just a sheet no duvet, the duvet was found scrunched up in the corner of the room, it wasn’t clean that smelt aswel. The curtains had a stain up them!
The walls are very thin so we could hear everything, it was a Saturday night so people coming in and out.
Overall our stay was awful would not recommend it for the price!

Upon arrival you have to phone receptionist so they can come down to you then when entering the hallways the carpets are filthy and stain and the hallways have a bad smell about them. The bedrooms are OK not special again the carpets are disgusting in the room, bathroom floor was dirty and in the evening the rooms were really hot. Would not recommend staying here and will not be returning.

Book Travelodge as a stop over for local theme park. Arrived at the hotel, could not get parked in very limited car park, after parking remotely, 3-4 mins away (pay and display), went in to hotel to no receptionist. Had to ring a number just to be told him would be down in 5mins. No apology. Was given a room on the 3rd Floor. Room ok, typical budget hotel amenities, was a little warm in the room, didn't think too much of it at the time as was late and eager to get back out to eat (No food/drink facilities at hotel). We returned to the room, still warm but bearable, kids were tired from the day so keen to get to sleep, were just going off and then disturbed by the fire alarm going off, with no instruction from any staff we evacuated the hotel and had to stand outside for over 30mins or so, still with no staff intervention, instruction or update of the situation. Eventually being allowed back in after Fire services attended and inspected. Still nothing from the staff...
Once back in the room, I settled the kids down but the room just seemed to get warmer, by 2am in the morning the room was unbearable but had one child sleeping and another one very upset it was too hot. By then it was very late and I didn't want to have to start moving around rooms, even if a family room was available and if the room temperature was any different elsewhere. We managed a very uncomfortable night with a small plastic fan provided. In the morning there was no one at reception again to discuss the issue with. Just as well we didn't book the breakfast options...An overall unpleasant experience. The room was clean, tidy and typical of a budget hotel but shower looked warn and water pressure left little to be desired, haven't got long hair so not end of world, others may struggle (water was hot though).

My partner and I stayed at this travelodge as we were visiting Thorpe park. Reception staff were quiet but very helpful, however the cleanliness of this hotel let them down. Stains on carpet and horrible bin smells throughout the hotel made it quite unbearable. The room was abnormally hot and it was difficult to sleep at night even with the fan on and window open. Definitely get what you pay for, however I would expect a higher standard of cleanliness.
