A good all round hotel in a nice location over looking the nearby town, the staff are friendly and the building was interesting, our room was a bit small and needed a makeover or update, the restaurant was nice and offered a good selection of food, as did the breakfast

As others have stated, this parador used to be a monastery and has a great location atop a hill overlooking the surrounding countryside. Rooms are comfortable and the restaurant serves good food. However, in common with other paradors, staff seem to be overworked and in seriously short supply. I'm guessing reduced employee numbers help keep the chain's costs down, but to my mind this is a false economy. I'd rather pay a few euros more and have the bar, for example, fully staffed, than have to wait 15 minutes in an empty room with other bemused guests for someone to turn up and man it. (The harassed barman on duty the night we were there was charming, by the way, but was also serving meals in the restaurant and by the end of his shift looked seriously haggard). Also, with such stunning views on offer, it seems almost sacrilegious that there is no outdoor terrace here, where guests (and visitors) can enjoy a drink and the sights around them. What a missed opportunity, both for guests and for the hotel's revenue stream.

The atmosphere at this place is amazing. It as a very old monastery right on top of a hill overlooking the town. The staff spoke good English and were helpful and receptive. The rooms were nicely appointed. One issue however was that it was cold when we were and there was no heating!

Situated in an old monastry with superb architecture and amazing views. A beautiful church forms part of the hotel and irrespective of religious persuasion it's worth a visit as it's stunning! The hotel itself is beautiful, clean and in good condition. Fully accessible for wheelchair users and very helpful and cheerful staff.

Our first night before heading to Sarria to begin our Camino walk. What a beautiful evening spent at Parador de Montforte de Lemos. Stunning room, beautiful hotel, scrumptious meal at the restaurant all accompanied by great service. Thank you to all for hosting our stay.
