We visited for breakfast which was poor. Boiled eggs for the children, one of which was still raw and a replacement was requested but never even came. Toast was cheap “bimbo” style sliced bread. Service was slow and took a while to get the food and even longer to get the bill. Ohm just down the promenade is far better for breakfast.

I have been visiting this Bar/ Restaurant for the last 30 years.

Very grand looking building which can also give the impresssion of being very very expensive. Not at all its very reasonable, wonderful staff and food. The view is to die for.

Love it, see you in May

December on Ibiza is not what you could call busy and , having driven all over the place and found very few restaurants open, we went back to Santa Eularia knowing the Atenea would be open for we had had a drink there two days before.

We live in Sitges south of Barcelona, and had already been surprised at restaurant prices on Ibiza but the Atenea was not exorbitant.

It was very quiet for a Saturday compared to Sitges and we had a huge choice of tables, settling for one inside because it was a bit cold and windy on the outside terrace.

The maitre and the Belgian waitress were very attentive and knowledgeable and service was good.

We actually ordered too much for the portions were very big. My wife's fish soup was full of fishy things and my tomato soup very rich. I ordered suckling pig but we could have shared it and still been full. It was delicious as was my wife's cod. The house red was a Rioja and reasonably priced.

A nice touch was the invitation to have a chupito once we had paid the bill - about 60 Euros for the 2 of us.

The atmosphere would have been better with more customers but that's Ibiza in the winter for you.

Despite looking rather posh (table clothes on an expensive looking terrace) for our usual casual approach, we tried the Atenea and were well pleased with the hospitable and efficient service. Pork medallions in Roquefort sauce and duck in berry sauce were both very good, while wine was available in half bottles if required, making for a very pleasant evening without breaking the bank.

We walked up the prom from the Marina to the end and on the way back stopped here for a drink, we did this on two separate days. Great location, tables and chairs directly on the prom and 2.70 euro for a pint. Brilliant for people watching.
