we stumbled on the chill out bar in 2012 on our first visit to Alvor and wehad a great time, wedecided to visit again the 2nd holiday this year , the first time the owner seen us heasked us how long where we here for this time which amazed us that he remembered after 4 years and so many different faces passing through. We had beer and martini and coke slushes for the kids of which we have 3 and stil,the beer is 1 euro and the spirits 2 euro amazing prices, our bill most nights was 20-25 eurosfor around of drinks,and tasted pretty good to me.
We also ate here one night and had the platter which was piled high with onion rings, ribs and wedges and two pizzas between 5 of us, it was lovelyand so reasonable too.
My husband is amassive Everton fan and missed the sport on tv he asked if lionel could put on sky sports news regarding the transfer window and he happily obliged and chatted to us about being a Liverpool fan which I was happy about.
On our last night we got to meet his amazing children who speak better english than most people Iknow and his lovely wife Andrea who is British, we where made to feel sowelcomeand most nights the bar was packed but we where served quite quicklyand sometimes we would just sit down and a drink would be waiting for us .
I wasnt very well one night andjust drank water, the next night Lionel asked if I was feeling better which I thought was lovely.
If ever you visit Alvor be sure to visit the Chill out bar and say Hi to Lionel we sure will if we ever come back this way again Thankyo for a brilliant time and being excellent hosts Jacqui,Jeff and kids

Used to spend most of our time in here when on holiday as the Toasties are amazing and beer and drink all good prices .
However this time owner who can be moody ( part of the atmosphere here folk will know what I mean ) on day 2 I ordered my cocktail , always 2.50 , lager always 1 euro .. I did wonder where the cocktail menus were and had to hunt for it ? Actually it was the same with the food menu was everything hidden ?

Anyway I ordered my cocktail and it arrived half the size as previous visits previous years and was put down clumsy and towards my husband . No enjoy no statement , didn't feel like holiday luxury . Later while discussing it this seem to really annoy my husband . Maybe owner having an off day but our visits and money is not guaranteed . So that was it we spent our time and money in different bars . Let's hope it was an off day and it steps it's game up again .

A nice bar to visit if you are on a budget, Less than a euro for a large beer. We ordered food here and most of our 6 meals were very average, kids nuggets were something that would probably now be banned in UK, my meal was a peri peri toastie and seemed to be either deep fried or shallow fried and tasted of only oil. Not great food but is still quite a busy bar due to the cheap drinks, we ate at 4 bars in the surrounding area and all were far better for food.
