Fantastic little hotel in the middle of Halberstadt. Friendly and welcoming staff. Wonderful backyard/garden. Free parking. Will definitely return. Maybe just a trifle, but the staff spoke hardly any English. Will definitely return some day.

There was nothing I could fault about any aspect of my 2 night stay. The room, ambiance, staff, breakfast and light supper were all excellent. Excellent value for money. A safe environment for females traveling alone.
I stayed here whilst my son was racing at Oschersleben circuit 20km away. It is an easy drive to the circuit and a peaceful, clean haven to get away in the evening. I would recommend it to those looking for a good place to stay within 30mins drive of the circuit.

I stayed here for two weeks whilst on business. Although I'd loved the hotel I had stayed in on a previous trip to Halberstadt, this hotel had a much more central location.

The hotel is not staffed 24 hours a day. You have to let yourself in with a key from around 7pm, so don't lose it!. You'll also have to make arrangements to collect your key if you are arriving late.

The rooms are located around a small but very pretty central courtyard. They are rather dark but are nicely furnished with really comfortable duvets and pillows. Some are at ground floor level for those with a disability. Nice to see that some smoking rooms were available. I'd strongly advise that you bring your own toiletries (shower gel/shampoo) as the sachets provided aren't too big. The showers in the rooms (I satyed in two seperate rooms over two weeks) were very disappointing. They kept moving every time you stood under them. In the end, I had to dismantle the shower head and hose myself down.

There are numerous TV channels to choose from but this might be an issue if you (like me) don't speak much German as the only English station available is CNN.

Be careful if you are bringing children. German TV tends to have many channels which show 'very adult' content at night. Even the adverts are a bit (ahem)... well.... 'risque'.

Free internet access is provided.

The breakfast is adequate although I'd prefer more in the way of 'cooked' options.

The hotel is about a 5/8 minute walk from the nearest restaurants and about 12 minutes from the nearest shops. I recommend you eat at The Olive or Rosettti. For a really cheap meal with massive portions, try the Potato House which is just round the corner and located underground in some old vaults. There's a nice tapas bar in the town.

Halberstadt has the feel that it's never quite emerged from being a part of the former Eastern Bloc. That said, this is some of it's charm. The pretty cobbled streets in the centre are lined with quirky and really quite beautiful houses. The Hof and the Town Walls are well worth a visit.
