We (three people) stayed here for two nights and loved the unique location of this guest house! It’s away from the busy street, a little bit hard to find (def call before you get there so they can explain you the way) but it’s worth it, it’s calm and the view is amazing.

We stayed for two nights. Our balcony (not private) had amazing views across the valley. From the balcony we saw purple faced langurs, lots of birds and a large family of macaques that liked to hang out on the balcony above us. Breakfast was good and dinner was excellent, much better than the food we had in the town.
The guesthouse is a little difficult to get to, you need to walk through a valley and another guesthouse with your luggage, but it is worth it to be away from the noisy main road. It is not too far from the railway station in my opinion. The owner was friendly and helpful and gave us a map with a shortcut to Ella rock.

Only downside was the bathroom door didn’t shut properly and there was a bit of mould in the bathroom. However the guest house is excellent value for money.

The place is a bit hard to find by tuk tuk or taxi unless you are on foot, then you can take a pathway past the river from the main road (if you know about it).
Upon arrival I liked how the place looked. It looked clean and had a magnificent view of the valley. The room was very cheap so I can't really complain too much and the rooms were clean but again a very heavy musty smell in the air, Upon investigation, this didn't come from the (clean) bathroom but from the bed. The sheets were clean but the bed smelled musty. Didn't like that.
The food we ordered in the place however was very tasty and sufficient. Hosts are very friendly and helpful too.
We took the 6.40am train from Ella to Kandy (higly recommend that trip) and they made us a little breakfast box to take with us.
If it wasn't for the bed, they place would have received a much higher rating.

We ended up staying here last minute because of a problem with our arranged accommodation and couldn’t have been happier! I honestly think it’s one of the best places to stay in Ella. The bed and room was comfortable and spacious, the hosts are really helpful and accommodating making tea for us and delicious breakfast. There is a quick route into the town which was really simple to follow and the views are amazing! I could have sat on the terrace all day long. Do stay here, it’s great.

I had a very mixed stay during my time at Raveena.
To begin with the guest house is a complete nightmare to find. I also actually fell down the stoney path whilst trying to clamber down the steep and slippy path.
Raveena herself was lovely however her husband speaks terrible English. There were numerous unlucky incidents which took place however one was that they tried to kick me out a room after checking me in to it in the first place (after a night out and had unpacked already), this also happened to another couple who stayed there. The second was that i had arranged with the husband and their son for a taxi to Udawalawe and they just didnt show up leaving 6 of us waiting on the high street for over an hour before a tuk tuk driver delivered my rucksack to a group of strangers on the main road.
Not.worth the money to be honest!
