We organised diving trip in Dumaguete with our friends last April. We heard of this dive operator from a friend so we decided to have a look and contact them, via email.

The responses via email were average ... could have been quicker but later part of our communication it had improved.

There were 8 of us and diving from Mon til Fri. The organisation was great. Two DMs came to meet us early at the resort which was nice. Things got organised n sorted for diving relatively easy. The DMs, John &Richie were with us the whole week. There were professional, nice and a bit reserve...which suited us just fine.

We did 2 diving days in Dauin, 2 days in Apo and 1 day in Oslob. They picked us up from the resort on time and helping out on the boat with the rest of the crew...it's great. On each of the diving day we also had luch on the boat .. usual one or two grilled dishes, which were done on the boat, and 2 more dishes with rice or noodle. Then fresh fruit to finish off the meal. We all were happy with the food.

They were also accommodating, because we changes our diving plan twice and they have no problem with it at all.

After the last diving day, they took all our gear and rinsed overnight before dropping them off at the hotel the next day.

Overall, we were happy with all the arrangement and their services. We would recommend this dive operator if you are planning to dive in Dumaguete.

I completed my open water diving course through scuba ventures and under the tutelage of Snoopy.

Quite intensive on the theory side but if you don't mind 'getting your head in the books' then it really is a simple qualification.

Snoopy is an excellent teacher/ coach with a wealth of experience diving in and around Dumaguete and Negroes Oriental.

The region is renowned for its beautiful corals and variety of marine life, I was lucky enough to swim with a turtle on my final dive.

Would highly recommend anyone considering doing their open water course through scuba ventures (the prices were excellent, and the teaching is second to none).

Will definitely be continuing my scuba education and look forward to completing more courses through Snoopy, and diving in the those pristine waters again in the not distant future!

Had a great time accomplishing my certification for Open Water Course in Scuba Diving courtesy of Sir Snoopy of Scuba Ventures.

Although, a bit rushed, which I actually liked since I intend to stay in Dumaguete for a short time, the course was compact and thorough. All the skills and theories are learned. Maybe the instructions can be a bit more intentional, but none the less, if you're a good learner, you'll definitely won't complain with the fast paced teaching.

Also, I am imagining a confined water lesson in a swimming pool, away from external factors such as currents, visibility, etc. I was a bit shocked, although I am expecting it, that the first and the rest of the lesson took place in the sea. This is not an ideal way to learn first, especially, if you fear water and if it's your first time breathing through an apparatus. But none the less, if you're that brave or can't care less, the confined water practice in the sea is already a good starting point since you can adapt to the tides and everything that the sea has to offer. Making you more comfortable once you head deeper for your dive.

All in all, everything went according to my itinerary. I had a great time. I felt safe (which is important). and I am, a certified diver =)
