this hotel is located along the main road in downtown duma. numerous dining places are literally within 500 meters; along with spas and shopping places. even the ocean. had my breakfasts here and food is okay. nice staff, fast internet. only downside was that i had to shower with cold water. okay for the price and i will stay again in this hotel when visiting this city.

I had this activity in Dumaguete and the secretariat chose to book us at Hotel Essencia. Though I’ve had many chances to visit Dunaguete, this is actually my first time to visit the place.
Check in was smooth. No problems.
As for the room, it is clean. Toilet is clean. Generally it’s ok. Although i find it dark. There is ample lighting and working with your laptop is ok but may be not that ok for reading and writing.
The location is very ideal. It’s near the “baywalk” and all the nicest restaurants.
As for the food, could be better but no complaints.
Amenities: they have an in house spa. But no fitness center or pool. Tours are also available.
Bottom line, I will definitely consider Essencia in my next visit to Dunaguete.

The hotel’s location is what makes it ideal. It is walking distance to a mall, a Catholic Church, it is beside a sports wear store, it is also near a bank. The breakfast buffet is not that good but satisfactory. The hotel’s restaurant food is not expensive as what we usually see in hotels. So if you are very tired from swimming with sea turtles or other tour activities, eating in the hotel restaurant will be fine. The massage spa is ok though not that good. The drawback i encountered was the staff in the receiving desk. I suggest the management place people with pleasing personalities in the front desk capable of behaving in a professional, respectful manner. In addition, If your personnel is sick, please do not let her receive your guests. It is very uncomfortable to be received by someone blowing her nose in front of you & telling other staff that she does not know how to receive guests who have booked many rooms. I hope you train your staff well before exposing them to your guests.

Basic room, nothing special but for P1700 not much to complain about. Nicely located,, doesn't have a gym so thats a minus. Near other stores an shops
You're in dumaguette not Makati so its all good for the price.

Next time I would probably stay out of town a little and find something a little nicer, the rooms are small, kettle in room but no tea or coffee they say that is included in the breakfast so you can only drink coffee at breakfast, the bed is hard, the shower pokey and small, very noisy air conditioning struggled to work, toilets didn’t always flush, in short you get what you pay for very little
