We spent a lovely three nights here in early June 2022. The place is really nice, very spacious and lots of restaurant options inside. Our room for 3 adults was nicely furnished and clean. Wish they didn't charge extra for early check-in, but it's a minor quibble.

Stayed from May 31-June 3, 2022. The resort is well maintained with a lovely pool. It took sometime for us to check-in since our rooms were not available as to the specified time of 3 pm. My husband was quite pissed off with the delay. However the staff apologized & we were compensated with tokens of pastries & free airport shuttle on our departure which we appreciated. The rooms are spacious & beds are comfortable. The staff are really friendly & helpful. There are restaurants inside the compound so you don’t have to go out of the resort after a tiring day of touring. If you want a peaceful & quiet resort to chill away from the noise of the city, this is your resort.

For a 5 star hotel, it doesn’t seem like it is and definitely not worth the price.

-Poor amenities (Example, they offer a small thin bar of soap as a body wash. Why wouldn’t they offer liquid body wash? Also, some towels were overused)

-They clean the rooms/bathrooms and change your towels after 3 days instead of everyday. There’s no pandemic anymore so why not clean the rooms everyday?!

-Good food, but not enough choices for breakfast (Why wouldn’t pancakes be included in the options? Also, the coffee doesn’t taste good - strong and burnt tasting)

-Nice staff, but they need more training:
>Food Service is slow and inefficient.
During breakfast and lunch, our food were served after hours of waiting. Some of our orders came incorrectly (not what we ordered).
>Disorganize and lack in system.
>They lack in staff both at the front desk and Sans rival Cafe.

-They will charge you if you don’t return all your keycards. If this was a true 5 star hotel, you wouldn’t charge your guests for something cheap and disposable.

Overall, our stay was ok (big rooms and nice pool), but lacking in amenities and training of staff.

There are more cons than pros.

Whoever owns this hotel seems like they are saving too much on costs.

Never going to stay in any of the Henry Hotels in the Philippines.

Dear Celina R,

Thank you very much for your valuable feedback. I am sorry to hear that we fell short on your expectations. Trust that your concerns have been addressed with all departments including our partner, Café Sans Rival. Your comfort and enjoyment are very important to us and we place a great deal of emphasis on providing a like-no-other service. We fully recognize should you feel we have more cons than pros with the cited concerns as these presented a disappointing stay experience and may impact your overall perception of our hotel and brand. Once again, I apologize for the inconveniences.

May I also take this opportunity to thank you for your kind understanding about our limited hotel services brought by the global pandemic. On behalf of the whole team, thank you for allowing us to be of service to you. Your review reinforces our commitment to this goal and we shall endeavor to continue and improve our services for our valued guests - such as you.

I hope you can still find your way to the Henry Resort Dumaguete and I would be very happy to assist you.

Sincerely,

The suite is generously spacious though the room could use more lights (maybe 1 or 2 white lights) to brighten the room at night.
Mosquitoes were present also on the first night. We killed like 4 or 5 during the night. We requested the housekeeping to spray the room, which they did so hooray to them.
The people are friendly, too.
There are good restaurants within the resort. No beach though. At least they have a pool.

Stayed at rm 101 feb 25-27
Booked thru Agoda at 200 usd/day without breakfast. On their website it was at 320 usd with breakfast.
No credit card. You have to give 2k php cash for incidentals.
No frontdesk staff from 12mn to 6am, I guess no emergencies allowed at that time then.
No free wifi.
No housekeeping service, you have to call.
No other amenity except a pool.
The sea is across the street, not accessible from within the resort.
1 pc each of a tiny bottle of shampoo and lotion in a very hard to squeeze bottle for the whole 2 days.
Room service is from the resto nearby, Si Senor. Their waiters, not housekeeping, will clear the dirty dishes so you'd have to be in the room.
Lost keycard is 200 php.
Table top paint is peeling.
TV remote wont work, you'd have to call the staff each time, and even they take about 3mins of tweaking where they point the remote at the back of the TV.
The aircon stopped cooling on the 2nd day despite maintaining the same settings. I was sweating in the middle of the night and there's no staff to call on until 6am.
There were 2 bottled water free, and a small sachet of coffee free, but thats it. Area is roomy, bathroom also spacious but since the shower stall has no door you'd have to monopolize the whole bathroom until your business is done.

Dear Lakwatserako,

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback about your recent stay with us. I am sorry to hear that we fell short on your expectations. I have carried out an investigation to find out how we missed the opportunity to delight you with our service and coordination with our partner restaurants located inside the resort premises. Trust that your concerns have been addressed with all departments concerned including our partner, Si Senor.

May I take this opportunity to thank you for your kind understanding about our limited hotel services brought by the global pandemic. While we strive to provide a like-no-other-service, we also respect the high regard for space and minimal close contact by observing minimum health and safety protocols for the protection of our valued guests such as yourself and our team members. This was also well explained upon your check-in and an informative letter was provided in the room also for quick reference. We may have limited services, but we gladly replenish bottled water, coffee, tea, and toiletries upon request. Guest requests may be accommodated anytime of the day as we have team members on duty for 24 hours. Wi-Fi access vouchers are provided inside the envelope together with the guestroom keycards.

Once again, I apologize for the inconveniences that have impacted your overall perception of the resort. On behalf of the whole team, thank you for allowing us to be of service to you. Your valuable review reinforces our commitment to improve our services. We hope to get the chance to recover your confidence in us. Please contact me directly at mfresnido@thehenryhotel.com for future reservations and I will personally look after your requests.
