We arrived at high noon at Paoay and needed a quick lunch before we explore the iconic Paoay church and the nearby Malacanang Ti Amianan. We heard that Herencia offers the best Ilocano cuisine, and my non-Ilokano friends wanted to try their specialties, Pinakbet, Dinuguan Pizza, and Bagnet. I wanted the regular chopsuey and bistek (local beefsteak). And sure enough, we were not disappointed. We were seated by the window that had a fantastic view of the church and the plaza. We took turns taking photos of the view from our window, while waiting for our dishes to arrive. It was the best dining experience I had in this part of our Ilocos journey.
